After Kayley's outburst at Ross about White and Reese, and Ross's indecisiveness about what would happen with Reese and White, Ross's relationship with Kayley began to deteriorate.
Kayley, who almost always slept in a short nightie, and bare feet, and allowed Ross to touch her virtually anytime he wanted, began to sleep in sweats, and socks, and would almost angrily pull away any time Ross even tried to touch his wife.
One night, after Kayley again angrily pulled away from Ross in the dark. Ross appealed to his wife of 20 years.
"Kale, please talk to me. I love you" Ross appealed.
"You say words, Ross, but your actions show to the contrary. You promised me that you would not involve yourself with anything new with White and Reese, and I feel like you lied to me for even considering it. I feel like I cant trust you" Kayley said in a cutting tone.
Ross sighed "Kayley, realistically, you dont have the right to tell me who to do business with. I dont try to tell you how to teach your classes" Ross reasoned.
"I feel like in this case I do, considering how your whole personality changes when you do business with these people, and it seems to affect everything. Your personality with us, in the office, and all else. You dont need these men, Ross. What the Hell is your obsession with them? I would be hurt and furious, but I could almost see if you had an affair with another woman you thought was more kind and more beautiful than me" Kayley said.
"I would never have an affair because I love you, and I would not want to betray your trust" Ross said.
I feel like saying yes that you can do a deal with Reese and White on one condition

"Victor runs RossShell, you are supposedly just a CEO who waves your hand. The condition is, you give Vic power of attorney to handle all meetings, and details with them.. You just sign contracts., Victor and your attorney are your reps on your behalf. You do not hold any meetings or calls with them. Everyone else does it all, you just sign a contract" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "I dont like it, but if that is the only way I can get deals done with them if they have them, then okay" Ross said,
"Remember I own half of RossShell. I have the same lawyer you do on it. I will call everyone involved if I have to , to make sure you are telling me the truth" Kayley said.
"If you lie to me, or omit or try to hide anything. You have no idea what I will do to you about that betrayal of trust. You think I've been bad lately, you have not seen anything" Kayley said.
"I said okay. Now will you please get all those stupid clothes off, and get back to being us. I would like permission to make out and make love with my wife" Ross said.
Kayley started stripping until she was naked, and Ross and her made out, and had sex.

When Ross opened his eyes the next morning, Kayley was sleeping. "Called in sick, can you do the same?" Kayley asked.
"Half day at most, I will be home ASAP" Ross said

When Ross got to the office, he told Victor of Kayley and Ross's discussion.
"Vic, as you know, Kayley has been furious at me for thinking of doing business with Roy and Bruce. I got her to calm down last night. Kayley agreed that she will look the other way if I want this company to make money from them, on one condition. That I not be involved actively. I give you and the lawyers all power of attorneys to handle all business, and I just sign off on things. I dont want to upset her any more than she has been, so I agreed" Ross said.
"If Bruce and Roy dont agree to that?" Vic said.
"Then I will tell them both to go fuck themselves. My happiness with Kayley is the most important issue to me. Regardless of how much money I could make from them" Ross said.
"Kayley came up with a good compromise. I will show it to them, and if they say no, we dont do deals with them anymore" Vic said.
Ross sent White and Reese an email that from then on,he could not be involved with active deals with them, and that while his companies could still do business with them, that Vic and the attorneys would have to handle it all.
Both men sent back the predictable "We will have to think about that, and we will get back to you"
When Ross got home that day, he showed Kayley the communication between himself, Bruce, and Roy as proof.
"You see it all here as proof. I told Victor that if White and Reese do not agree to this, I will walk away from them both for good" Ross said.
"Will you be okay if they tell you to take that proposal and go to hell? Kayley said.
"Yes, it will be a lot better then you telling me to go to hell. I would be heartbroken about that" Ross said.
"You know that I'm not doing this to try and be a controlling bitch. I think this is needed for so many reasons, for yourself, us, and your work" Kayley said.
