Farewell 2011....

I know it's not for another 35 hours yet, but I just wanted to start this thread.. to say Happy New Year, and farewell to 2011.

For me.. 2011 has been a tale of two distinctly different types of years. Everything that happened before October 21, 2011, with the being away.. doctors.. hospitals.. my mom's illness.. my own health issues. etc, and everything after October 21.. a period of.. thank heaven.. peace, tranquility, and getting back to myself. It's been my quietest period in over 2 years, and it feels good.

As those who have listened to it are aware.. The Counting Crows had an album from 1993.. I believe, the one with their most famous song, Mr Jones. The album was entitled.. August.. and Everything After..

For me.. 2011 has been.. Everything Before October 21st, and Everything After.

So, Happy New Year.. I look forward to a good 2012, and wish everyone the same.

If we have to buy a bigger fan for all the s*** to hit, I hope it is made in the USA. ( has GT started drinking early? ) 2011 has been a very (record)challenging year. If my enemies curse me to live in challenging times, they have acheived their goal. I do still count my blessings. However, I do not think things will improve for many years and that we will not see again the opportunities of the past.

Until May 22, 9/11 was the worst thing I ever knew...then I drove up Range Line Road, then down Main Street, and past St. John's hospital...and some bodies weren't found yet.

Happy New Year, GT. You mentioned about your enemies cursing you to live in challenging times, but counting your blessings. I know exactly how you feel, my friend. I have no doubt that my ex best friend's mother loved every minute of it, when she heard my mom had cancer. My ex best friend's mother is the most evil woman I've ever known. However, God gave me a blessing, and my mom is now (God willing) cancer free. In the meantime, I found out the other day, that the genius whom my idiot ex best friend broke up our 29 year friendship for, Miss Wonderful, is now with someone else. God works in mysterious ways.

Samuel, I'm so sorry about how the tornado affected you and those where you live. I hope and pray that 2012 is a better year for you all. May you have a Happy, Healthy, good new year, my friend.

Well, its after 2am on January 1, 2012.. so, even though it's 2 hours late.. officially.. Happy New Year.

I feel blessed: I was able to say Happy New Year to my mom. A year ago at this time, we couldnt say for certain that she would have made it this far. She has made it to 2012, cancer free, God willing. I hope and pray she remains alive and well ,for me to say Happy New Year to her, for many years to come.
