What is everyone's favorite beer? I must say in my humble opinion that Heineken should make everything from baby formula to prun juice..because it taste sooo good. Why should the youthful and our seniors miss out 😀 .
Anyway I heard that Germans hate Heineken so I hope they post a beer that trumps my love.

Back in my beer-drinking days, I thought Sam Adams was just about the best. I also drank a fair amount of Colt .45 when I lived in Oaktown 😀

I'm not a real beer drinker but when i have the occasion the Carlsberg comes to mind 😀
yeah it's Carlsberg most nonethless there are many good other beers too

Its very true my family hates Heineken, my beer of choice is Becks. It has a very intense taste. Best beer in tha world

My dad loves Becks...I think if he had a 5th child...he/she would be named Becks. I've tried it before but it's a bit too bitter for me. But certainly has a rich taste. My mom scolded me for spending too much on a case one time saying a college student shouldn't incurr such expenses. Obviously my ma is a liquor girl 😉

Hmm, I don't drink much either. But when I do drink beer I usually have something of the imported variety. Domestic beer is too bland for me.

Well actually i don't drink beer, but when i did that, i tasted heineken, lowenbräu, sagres, some english brand, some chilenas and national too (polar, ice, brahma, solera). I prefer heineken, has a pretty good taste.

Hmm...

I like Tuborg more than the rest of the famous brands. Miller is quite nice.

I like Kilkeny though. I think it's an ale. Very good and effective.

I even like it better than Leffe.

Nothing beats the heavier stuff though, like martinis or magaritas. I haven't tried scotch or burben yet. Is that any good?

Can anyone recommend a good fine wine?

There are many sorts of whisky ( single pure malt or blended ). Each one of course has its own taste. One really good : G l e n m o r a n g i e
Wine .......... go for a good C h i a n t i ( me prefer red Bordeaux wines though ) .
My fav still rests V o d k a 😀

I always seem to notice that many Britons, Germans, Flemmish and Walloons seem to dislike Heineken as the water it actually really is. It's probably because they all have better beer on themselves (well I'm not sure about the German, not too bash but I find the beer over there also as soft as Heineken, but they don't serve it in small itty-bitty glasses like the Dutch do).

Over here in Flanders (and also the rest of Belgium) doesn't any market sell Heineken, the only places to get Heineken over here is in cafés actually owned by Dutch (in Brasschaat from where I live, which is full of (rich) Dutch). It's because it would never sell enough, since people lke our own beer better (like Hoegaarden, Brugse Witte, Palm, Duvel, Cronenburg, etc...). I'm pretty sure the best beer drinkers (except for some Eastern-Europeans) live over here, since very few beer beat Duvel (being heavy beer I don't drink myself, I'm not mad 😛).

For the beer I drink, it's got to be Hoegaarden or Jupiler (too much Hoegaarden, being white beer, is not good for your stool, if you know what I mean)

P.S.: About Heineken: We all know the Dutch are amongst the most charismatic within the Western cultures. It's also because of their commerciality Heineken got that popular I believe, good thing for the Dutch themselves. For Dutch beer I preffer Grolsch though, or Hougaerdse Das (if I spelled it correctly) :weird: .

I'm not much of a beer drinker when given the choice between that and harder stuff. For one I don't like having to drink 4 cans of something to get tispy (6 for a a solid 'drunkeness') and taking pee breaks every 5 minutes.
All beers are pretty much the same to me though I haven't had toomany different brands. My tule of thumb is "You know you're getting a good buzz when beer starts to taste good" cause as alcoholic beverages go it's really bottom of the barrel for me.
I'm much happier with a nice fruity maragrita (frozen always), pina colata, or other tasty concoction. I had vodka once and I have to say that for a quick and easy way to drunkenhood it can't be beat. Gotta love any alcohol that is virtually tastless and odorless.
But then, apart from social wine or a margarita when out to dinner, I never enjoyed drinking just for the sake of drinking. It's like having sex and stopping at foreplay.

Thanks for the recommendations, alf. ^^

Now Vodka, what kind of a variation is that? Is it completely pure or it mixed?

As far as beer goes, I think my favorite is Harp's Lager. If you've never drank it before, think about a mild, thinner Guiness.

As far as stronger stuff goes, I'm a vodka man. Drinking a straight shot, with perhaps a lemon-lime soda for a chase. Absolut is probably my favorite, but Smirnoff's is good when I'm on a budget. Most of my friends, however, drink bourbon. Not bad. Tends to be sweet, while Scotch tends to be bitter. One interesting thing I understand about bourbon is that in order to be called bourbon on an official capacity, it must be distilled in Kentucky. Jack Daniels, for all intensive purposes, is bourbon, but is marketed as Tennessee whiskey, because of course, it's made in Tennessee.

Rogue Red Ale from Oregon is my favorite, but I'm not old enough to buy it.

This my list of favourite alcoholic drinks!

Beer: Fuller's London Pride (english)
White wine: Tocai del Friuli (italian)
Red wine: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso (italian)
Whisky: Lagavulin, aged 16 years (scottish)

beer,hmmm....imports...surely Heineken...domestic, Miller Geniune Draft
Vodka? what else? Grey Goose

Bud....

Can't get enough of that bud!

Ive always been a fan of Newcastle, a British brown ale. It tends to be more expensive, but it's worth it in my humble opinion.

I'm surprised no-one has pointed out the futility of quoting brand names of beer - I've drunk them on 3 continents and they are changed to "suit the local market" if they are brewed under licence. Also beer formulations are constantly changing - possibly to meet export requirements.

When I was in the USA I used to like Miller Genuine Draft (in spite of the stupid name) or Old English (in 40 oz bottles).
Currently I drink Carlsberg Export (again UK formulation) as the Kronenberg in cans tastes a bit funny.

Anyway here are my selections:
Best Lager - Amstel ABV 6.5% (South African Breweries - prior to 1985 - the formula seems to have been changed now - exported at 5%)

Best Bitter - Some locally brewed Yorkshire beer tried at a Beer Festival in London ABV about 3.2% - only available within about 20 miles of the brewery
- the only beer I've ever had with no aftertaste.

Best Vodka - Count Pushkin - also from South Africa

The Vodka taste test (smoothness)
pour out a shot at room temperature and drink - if you judder or the hair on the nape of your neck stands up then it fails.

Well pure vodka ( mean white ) is generaly drinked mixed with orange juice. Of course vodka must be drinked cooled very cooled !!!
But if ever you can buy Zubrowka Vodka ( worldwide known ) drink it with apple juice and after you tell me 😉
Seeing that there is............almost 60 different vodkas well choice is yours.
Also there is a vodka called "Krupnik" which is honey flavored (40° though)
I wonder if you can find that one - only saw it in Poland.
