Since Halloween is almost here, and most of October, various TV channels having been showing Halloween movies et al..i thought i would ask what are a few of your favorite Halloween movies?

I'll start..

I like old fashioned ghost story type of movies..one with sound effects more than special effects, in which images jump out at you..

the Disney cartoon "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" was perfect..there were a few movies that also qualified as being top knotch..excluding the Johnny Depp one..they changed the story line around too much..but if you could forget that aspect, it was a nicely done movie..

the original "Halloween" is up there on my list..true it's a slasher movie..but it does take place on Halloween..and with that music sound track well..it makes for a spooky atmosphere..

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" is always a classic..and guess what..i was alive when it first aired lol..i never get tired of it..

What are a few of your favorites?

Halloween is a pretty cool Halloween movie. :stickout Zombie movies are cool too! Most of them, anyway.

Anything with Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Michael Myers, Pinhead, Jigsaw, vampires or any other psycho killers.

The Haunting (original version). Scared the Hell out me and my older brother. I was only a teen at the time. I have it on DVD now. It's a true film noir. Shadows and sounds play with your imagination.

Any movie produced by American Pictures or Castle with Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Bela Legosi or Vincent Price works for me.

I have always loved Halloween. I can watch pretty much any scary movie. I love the original Halloween, Ringu, Ju-On, The 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The original Dawn of the Dead ( and the new one too I suppose), The Children (or any really campy 1970's to early 80's horror flick - that was was era), Salem's Lot, and a ton more. I am not too keen on the gorey stuff as it tends to bore me. I am much more into the mood of the film.

Død snø should be the only film you all watch this year then :stickout It combines all of the above posters favourite things about horror movies, without a doubt

Scariest movie ever: The Audition

Favorite Halloween movie: Eraserhead
