I have been thinking about traveling to other countries lately, and I was wondering what is y'all's favorite place to visit, anywhere from the states to anywhere in the world. Mine so far was the Cayman Islands. Ten whole days of beautiful awesomeness and peaceful scenery.

Of all the places I've visited, my preferred is in my own country Czech Republic (partially in Poland): Krkonoše mountains. Perhaps it sounds surprising, that I prefer it largely over places like Paris, Niagara falls or Prague to name a few of more famous places I've visited, but ... yeah I do. The nature there is just beautiful.

Surprising, not at all. Some prefer their home nothing wrong with that. I also agree, nature can be quite beautiful, I would very much like to visit places like that. Perhaps one day I'll visit some mountains myself 🙂

The Swiss Alps are often overlooked - pristine beauty, not too cold, definitely awe-inspiring. On the US side, I've enjoyed places like Monterey, CA and Portland, OR - both are unique and charming in their own way. For the urban, international scene - Paris and Prague are two of my favorite cities. I'm hoping I'll be able to visit the UK this fall, so hopefully I'll have some places to add to the list. Besides the obvious, I intend to visit the home of James Herriott - sort of a pilgrimage 🙂

The most beautiful beach I've ever been to was in Curacao. It was called Knip Beach (or Playa Kenepa Grandi in the local language).

My favorite place that I've ever visited, but it was a long time ago. is Paradise Island, Bahamas. (The real one, not the one in my fictional stories of years ago, but they are the same place).

Blue ocean like I've never seen, white sandy beaches.. warm weather, great food.

I'd have to say that's my all time favorite.

International: Amsterdam. I don't know what's like now, but back in the late 1990s at least, it most certainly lived up to its reputation.

Within the US: Santa Barbara, California. Went there for a weekend getaway with my lady for our anniversary a couple of years ago. It's only about 90 minutes away from Los Angeles, but you feel like you're practically in another country. Climate, food, wine, and scenery are all incredible.

San Antonio is my favorite Texas city and it's about 90 miles from here. The Alamo, the Mission Trail, historic Fort Sam Houston, the Riverwalk, more things than I'd try to list here.

The Houston - Galveston area is great. There are so many things to do and see, you can't possibly be bored unless you want to be. In Corpus Christi you can tour the USS Lexington, the oldest surviving aircraft carrier in the world, and a veteran of the Pacific in WWII. The Texas State Aquarium is right next door, and the Padre Island National Seashore is not far away.

Love Philadelphia, I hope to visit again some day. No foreign travel yet, but Canada is one country I want to visit.

Nepal! You've got the Himalayas, the jungle and awesome cities with the happiest, friendliest people I've ever come across. India or China a would be up there too.

I'm with you there TTT, I visited Prague in your country a few years back and as a short break it is a fantastic place with all the Christmas markets, amazing architecture, to be honest I don't have a specific favourite destination but that is one of many.

I haven't traveled too much in my life, only left the state a handful of times. From what I've experienced, Sedona, Arizona is wonderful. Quiet, much cooler (heat wise) than here in Phoenix. Very green surroundings, lovely water to see. I actually would like to retire there someday.

Back home in my country I have the following places:
- Faial and Pico island in the Azores
- Lisbon
- Sintra (Quinta da Regaleira comes to mind as one of my all time favourite places, the castle and bot palaces are quite nice too)
- The whole coastline from Estoril to Cascais (lovely to walk by on sunset)
- Tomar and the lake castle of Almourol
- The small castle village of Obidos

These are pretty much my own places that I usually go to and I am so so lucky to live near most of them. Only the islands are a bit away and I only get there often due to my father being from there.

Now other countries:
- The Alps as someone have said are a great great place. And you have places nearby like Como in northern Italy, Innsbruck in Austria, Lake Constanz in Germany. This is all packed close so if you get a car you can explore the whole area quite well.
- I enjoy London and NY a lot as cities, but that may come from what I find interesting in a city and may be subjective.

I'm a homebird at heart and don't like the heat.

UK- down in the West Country.

Overseas- Another tick in the box for Prague 🙂
