FBI Investigates Possible Saudi-9/11 Financial Link; Lawmakers Worried About Probe, Sources Say
The Associated Press

W A S H I N G T O N, Nov. 23 — The Justice Department is investigating whether the Saudi government funneled money to a pair of students who helped two of the Sept. 11 hijackers, the White House said Saturday.

Members of a House-Senate inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks were concerned about a Saudi link to the hijackers, congressional aides said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Lawmakers believe the FBI has not aggressively investigated whether Saudi Arabia gave money to two men who provided financial assistance to two of the hijackers, they said.

Can we PLEEEAAASE just bomb the whole middle east?

Does anybody really object???

I mean, what good is the middle east anyway???

yeah, who needs Israel or oil? Ask areenactor what he thinks about bombing the Jews in Israel, but preferably do it from a speeding car while he's on foot, because anyone of the jewish faith will possibly take a teensy bit of an exception to the idea of bombing their homeland...

Saudis Face U.S. Demand On Terrorism
Halting Financiers May Be Urged
By Douglas Farah
THE WASHINGTON POST

Nov. 26 - A National Security Council task force is recommending an action plan to President Bush that is designed to force Saudi Arabia to crack down on terrorist financiers within 90 days or face unilateral U.S. action to bring the suspects to justice, senior U.S. officials said yesterday.

The interagency plan, devised before the recent furor over allegations of Saudi involvement in terror financing, comes amid growing concern among some congressional leaders and U.S. allies that the administration has been unwilling to press Saudi Arabia for action for fear of alienating a key Arab ally as possible war with Iraq looms.

The officials would not say what unilateral U.S. action might entail. But they said the United States would first present the Saudis with intelligence and evidence against individuals and businesses suspected of financing al Qaeda and other terrorist groups, coupled with a demand that they be put out of business. In return, one senior official said, the administration will say, "We don't care how you deal with the problem; just do it or we will" after 90 days.

Here's a possibility...

Quoting the above story:
"...the administration will say, 'We don't care how you deal with the problem; just do it or we will' after 90 days."

The Saudi bankers who are bankrolling Al-Quaeda are more dangerous to us than the shooters are - shooters are a dime a dozen. But since the bankers are non-combatants, they probably think they're immune to retaliation. They can serve the Cause and get rich at the same time, all in perfect safety.

Earlier this month, the CIA scragged a carload of Al-Quaeda shooters with an antitank rocket fired from a drone aircraft. Let's take the concept a step further, and imagine this scene: Saudi banker Rasheed al-Dinero gets in his Mercedes to go to the office. When he turns the key in the ignition, 5 kilos of Semtex under the seat promote him to Paradise and put the car in orbit. Then imagine that his pals Abdul Bigbux and Omar din-Cashbox get the same treatment.

We now pause while their colleagues reflect on the application of Guevara's Law. The more intelligent of them may decide that the risks outweigh the potential reward. The slow learners may need a repeat application.

And please, let's don't get all weepy over "assasination". No American flew a hijacked Saudi airplane into an office tower in Riyadyh. But 15 Saudi citizens did just that to us. The bastards say they're our enemies - let's show them what that means in the real world.

great posts strelnikov

haven't you heard? the saudi's have already said the u.s.can not use saudi territory, or air space, in an action against iraq. even if it's sanctioned by the u.n.!
so who thinks these bastards are our "friends".

I don't see where any Arab can be trusted very much.During the Gulf War,the Syrians had to be kept behind the lines because they were so
backbiting and a security risk.

In Afghanistan, there were units fighting for the Taliban who just quit and changed sides. What is even stranger is that the Northern
Alliance accepted them right in.

These people only understand and appreciate power and force. The minute there is a display of weakness, there are problems.

Call me thick as shit if you like, but I've never understood why SA is so popular among the west when most of the terrorists were Saudi, ha most of the fund in Saudi and that country had a "telethon" to raise money for the families of "heroic" Palestinian suicide bombers. More to do with money and convenience methinks............

I've gotta agree with you BigJim I don't trust the Saudis as far as I could throw them. I suppose on occasion were forced to deal them but when we do it should be with both eyes wide open.

Exactly right - that's the proper way to use a rifle sight. Close one eye and squint through the other, and you'll throw your aim off.
