For those that like feathers what's your favorite kind feather and where's a good place to acquire them? Me, I like stiff ones but all I can find are craft quality.

Hey Olgeme, I like the stiff ones myself and like you am having a very hard time finding them. I have to settle for using the quill point of the feather with most of them because of their soft ness. If you happen to find some good source please us tickling nuts know.

You can check out placed like Party Time where they have costumes. You can buy a kid's Indian Headress & use the colored feathers from them. You can also order them on line from some of the costume shop sites. I've used eagle-tipped feathers, along with the Indian Headress ones.
My personal preferrence, though, are the smaller stiff feathers. like Pigeon feathers.
Or something similar.

oh PFT. Go to any archery or hunter shop and you can get feathers for arrow shafts and turkey tail feathers and everything..

The craft stores I go to have a lot of feathers of every type...Wild turkey or hawk or turkey vulture feathers would be ideal as well if you live someplace rural.

For sure. Check out craft stores like Michael's~they have tons!

IMHO, I'd be a little wary about any you just pick up from the farm, beach, zoo, etc (I'm a freak about germs, diseases, etc. Comes from working in a hospital!) 😉

XOXO

During the course of my beachcombing for driftwood and such for the craft work I do, I have found all the feathers I would ever need there. (Too bad I don't have the chance to use them that much) 8c(

The assortment of raven and sea gull feathers range from about 5 to 8/10 inches in length and vary in width and stiffness. In my mind, they are perfect and the price is certainly right. 8c)

I'd steralize those first.. get a spray bottle and fill it with alcohol and a little water and spray the feathers on both sides.

Stiff ones work really well to drive me nuts, although the softer ones are just a feel good sensation. I've looked for a variety of them as well. Never checked at the craft stores, but I remember finding a site online that offers all kinds but I believe they were in bulk. Good luck on your search.

Forgot about sea gulls...Yes those are very nice. I havent been to the beach in years and years 🙁

Next time I go to the beach I'll be looking with new eyes. Our stores are so limited I need to travel a couple of hours to get to a Michaels or a craft store that stocks more than flourescent pink and orange fluffy feathers. I'll most likely send my husband into our local archery/hunting shop since I don't think they'd know what to do if a woman came in except to ask if she were lost or if she was lookin' for her husband....Ever been called "Little Missy" or "Darlin"? Yeah it's like that here sometimes...

Valid point, and I should have mentioned that I did do just that, only with a spray bottle of peroxide, not alcohol. I used a couple of long ones one time for someone to make old quills for writing with like in the old days. These folks were into calligraphy and wanted to try them out as a novelty, so asked me to pick a few up for them. Never did hear back from them though, so I guess no news is good news. 8c)

If I were lucky enough to try them out on someone for tickling, I would definitely sterilize better.

You can also order online. I'll bet Michael's has a website. And Ann knows of really cool site for feathers~hopefully she'll see this and provide the addy.

XOXO

Sometimes feathers are the only way to get my wife going when I tickle her feet. I have a stiff eagle feather that I picked-up in the wilds of Wyoming. I know you aren't supposed to pick them up, but considering my fetish I couldn't resist. Anyway, I found this site online just a minute ago.

Feathers

Looks like a great selection. I might just be placing an order today.

Hasta luego,
