Hey all, thanks for the kind words! Been a busy week since I finished, so hoping maybe this weekend. But built these myself following this YouTube video.

Just remove the space. It was incredibly easy. Only thing I did differently was I Used a 2x10 for the middle foot piece, then used a 3" hole saw to cut out the holes, then just cut it in half. With all materials and sanding, took me 3 hours and maybe $50-$75 to complete.
I had all the tools though, so that may change a few things cost wise.

Absolutely love these, they look incredibly solid! Only thing that's missing is hooks for toe ties, at least in my opinion! (In fact, I wonder if you could install them on the top and bottom planks for any time your wife's upside down in them?) I have to ask though, what about the cloths you've used on the ankle-holes? They just look a little coarse compared to the foam we normally see.

They are a little rough on their own, but I put a bunch of cloths underneath the one showing. My was was in them and said it was incredibly comfortable.
And I agree about the toe hooks. I'm looking to find some, but for now I'm using thumb tacks and wrapping shoe lace around her big toes, then tacking the laces to the wood. Works really well!
