Ross spent those first days at the new RossCo hard at work on Dave Banner's campaign.
Ross promised Dave that Ross would give Dave a "moderate size campaign" before Ross had to go to Texas and Oklahoma.
As the week ended, Ross wanted to go to Texas and Oklahoma.
Ross came home one night and asked Kayley.
"Honey, question. I would rather not leave you here if I'm gone. I don't know how long it would be. Originally, I thought two to three days. Now Fritz and Steve said the amount of investors we have to meet with could take four or five days or up to a week. Could you possibly, come with me if I leave on a Friday night after work, You spend the weekend with me, could you call in sick one day maybe that Monday, and then come home Monday night, and I would definitely be home by that Wednesday even if it is at the end of the day? What would you think of that, Babe?" Ross asked.
"Sounds like fun., Let;s find a fancy hotel with a mirror above the bed" Kayley said, kissing Ross.
"Okay, then done I will work at home that Friday. After your work day we will leave for the airport to take the plane. I will have meetings with investors, but you can sit with us if you want, or just do whatever. It should not take that long depending on how many people there are" Ross said.
When Ross went into work the next day, he told the staff. "I have to go to Texas and Oklahoma for meetings with clients for up to a week. This is my schedule. Dave and Tim know about all of this. Please just hold down the fort while I'm gone. I will be back by Wednesday morning or Thursday morning at latest depending on how things go" Ross said.
That Friday, Ross worked at home. Kayley got home at her usual 3 pm time. They left for the airport, flew to Dallas, changed planes to Oklahoma City, and got in a car to their hotel. That night would be a rest night, and the meetings with the investors and trips to the oil fields would start that Saturday morning.
During their time at the oil fields, Ross , Fritz and Steve took two dozen possible investors in several SUV's out to the oil fields. Even if everyone did not invest,even if .. half the people put in money, it would be a major investment and a success.
As the weekend came to an end, Kayley took a Monday noontime flight home to JFK, and Ross stayed until Wednesday, taking an early evening flight home, arriving at home before 10 pm.
"Hi, Mister Oil Mogul. How do you think the oil trip went?" Kayley said, kissing Ross in greeting
"It was definitely "successful, as before I got on the plane, I was in the office with Fritz and Steve, and at least ten of the twenty five people we showed the deals to are going to invest decent amounts of money. As to what happens with the other fiffteen, I would hope we could get five more, but even if we get, two or three more, it will be fine" Ross said.
"Ross, I know I have to go in at my usual time. Please don't go in at your usual time tomorrow. I personally think you should go, if you have to, for half a day" Kayley said.
"That;s what I was thinking. I will rest and work at home all morning, get to the office around noon, and be home by no later than seven. Being gone this long, I just want to check snail mail and thing, etc" Ross said. .
Ross fell asleep quickly. He was exhausted from the trip. The next morning, Kayley planted a light kiss on Ross's head as she was leaving for her day. Ross opened his eyes.
"I'm exhausted. I'm going to rest for a couple of more hours with the cell phone near me. I'm not leaving here til 1030 -11 at the earliest" Ross said.
Ross and Kayley wished each other a good day, Ross set the alarm for two hours later, at 10, and dropped back to sleep, his cell phone, which did not ring, near him.
At 11 Ross awakened, showered, put on a sport jacket and slacks with no tie, called an Uber, and went to the office.
"Ross, how was your trip?" Vic said.
"Very successful, I hope. It looks like maybe half of the people we showed the fields and the company to will sign up. The question is how many can we get" Ross said.
Then Ross's secretary said. "Welcome home, Ross. Tim Patrick called on the office line. He was not sure if you were home yet"
"I will go into my office and call him right now" Ross said, closing the door.
"Tim, I'm home, how are you?" Ross said.
"Just great, how was your trip" Tim said.
"We hope it was successful. We hope that maybe half of the investors we showed the fields to will sign up" Ross replied.
"Good Luck. Now I have a surprise for you. Dave Banner was so happy with the work you did for him. We have a friend who would like to meet you, and can give you some nice work" Tim said.
"Sounds excellent. Thank You. Can you give me a day or two to catch my breath. I'm a bit wiped out from the trip. I just came in to check on things. If all of you guys are available, we will meet anytime, all of your chocies, tomorrow or the next day" Ross said.
"Fine, talk to you later or tomorrow" Tim said.
Ross left the office a bit after 5. He truly was exhausted.
When Ross walked in the door at 6, Kayley looked behind her. "I'm glad you got home early. You look very tired" Kayley said.
"I could not look at that office one minute longer when I left. I just checked mail and packages, made a few calls, and did some paperwork" Ross said, Then he said. "How was your day?"
"Oh, same as always. The usual 20 or plus screaming students, and send offs to the principal's office .
"I did not go in until noon. Tim called me, and told me he has a major client to introduce me to with Dave Banner. With Tim and Dave's work finished for the month, I hope the workload is light except if I have to sign up any oil investors" Ross said.
Ross and Kayley got into bed, Ross managed to have enough energy to make love. He held Kayley close. "I'm impressed, Mister CEO. You come back from a 5 day trip, you're exhausted, and you still gave me a nice orgasm, Good job, husband" Kayley teased.
"I've been living up to my promise not to work myself to death. A business trip does not count in that. Now that I'm home, I hope I can stay in New York for a while both so we can spend time together. I also want to see how I go about perhaps finding more New York clients for RossCo. Someone I know might have some ideas, but I have to figure out who" Ross said.
"That's okay. You can pick up some more accounts. You're being a good boy. If you want to enlarge the company a bit, that makes sense. " Kayley said

"Woo Hoo, partner Ten of the guys we showed the fields to want to ante up and sign on the dotted line. We will do it from this end, and then FEDEx to you for your signature, and it is away we go" Fritz said.
"Thanks guys. That's amazing. So the trfp was successful. I'm thrilled for all of us, and the investors. Hopefully we all make a mint" Ross said.
Kayley was just about to leave for work, when Ross entered the living room.
"Have a good day, honey" Kayley said, kissing Ross.
"You too, and for me, this has already been a good day. Fritz just called. Ten guys are going to sign up for the oil deal, just as I had hoped. Boy I will tell you, I'm living up to my promise of not obsessing about my work, and even though I have very few clients now. I already have two mega clients for the RossCo side, might get a third, and the oil and gas is booming even though I'm just working normally and not killing myself" Ross said.
"You deserve it, honey, after all the Hell you had at the place we won't talk about" Kayley said, walking out the door.
So the oil trip had been a success.
