I'm very open about my love of all things kinky. They think its quirky, and occasionally even express mild curiosity. I enjoy trying to explain the appeal to sexually vanilla people.

Either way, as for the labels, I share your feelings. I've yet to hear any reaction on tickling due to its obscurity, but general kink lovers get a bad rap. Shows like Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds don't help. When your TV idols walk into a BDSM club and carelessly refer to everybody there, innocent or otherwise, as twisted perverts and sickos, what else can you think?

I often think that the vanilla people are the weird ones for not understanding, at the very least, the appeal of kink. But they probably think I'm odd, too, so I'll let it slide. Maybe being different from each other to begin with dampens the effect of it?

But more likely you're right, TGG and FireFox - I act unashamed of it. If you act like something is normal, people without an ulterior motive (which is practically everyone) tend to just take you at face value for it.

I'd also like to add this: When you break down the acts involved in foot fetishism/adoration/whatever you want to call it, on some level or another it's just like any other act of affection. Your lips go somewhere, and do their thing. The only person who should care where your lips go, is the recipient of your affections. And why *shouldn't* the feet receive just as much lovin' as the rest of the body. Eh? :lol

Personally I don't get much of a thrill tickling the feet, just the bits that would get attention during sex anyway, especially the breasts. I don't really see it as a fetish, more like another form of foreplay, but some people are very conservative about what's sexy and what isn't. The only people who would actually look down their noses at something like tickling have serious problems and are usually sexually repressed oddballs whose sexual interests are either non-existent or go way beyond tickling and BDSM as we know it, usually manifesting as non-consensual 'fulfillment'. Most people who give a funny look are just a bit unimaginative in other areas of their lives as well. I have told more people about my fondness for tickling than ASMR, which isn't even sexual.
