If you had no idea about what a foot fetish is, wouldn't YOU think that ALL foot guys are perverts, JUST from the way the news reports them?
No, because then I'd be generalizing. I respond to you not to prove that foot fetishists, by the same token, assume 'everyone else' will judge them, but because I am not a foot fetishist either (where the difference between being a fetishist and having the fetish is the open advocation of said fetish), yet I am a member of this website and others that are by and for tickling or foot fetishists. I myself, by virtue of my simply being here and replying to you, prove what you're saying is not the case, either.
Do alot of people think you're all sickos and perverts who cannot control your fantasies? Sure. And, to some extent, they'd be right, since you'd have to prove to them you are in control of your fetish(es) and are not obsessed by it/them. To that portion of people judging you, it may not matter whether you can control it or not, rather, it is that you have an obsession to begin with, and because of it's sexual nature, they see you just as much at risk and a risk to society itself as the perverts who actually have the nerve to sneak a tickle, fondle a foot, break in to do so, or whatever. To them, perhaps the only difference is that you haven't done it yet and they have. Since you can never prove you never will do it, they'd simply have to take your honest word for it, and while you may be sincere, it can never be a gurantee, as a fetish has the potential to grow in a person in many perverse ways and directions, leading them into deeper, darker, and nastier things, to the point where you lose your perspective and do what these guys do.
Ultimately, you guys can never come out and be proud and not have this portion of society, who assumes the worst of you, accept you simply because you say you're not like the others. The fact you'd have to promote a sexual fetish in the public arena, when it's something that should be kept in the bedroom or in comfortable and affectionate situations, doesn't bode well, either. It's like gays (with no offense to them, personally) doing their gay rallies. Marching around and being proud just makes people aware, as if it wasn't already abundantly clear, that you exist. In the case of a fetishist, proving you exist does only that- proving you exist. What then? Because a fetish is a personal matter kept to one's self, why should society have to accept it when it's an individual thing? It's not like you'd be tickling people at random, as easily as you'd shake their hand. Because it is an awkward situation, it would never fit in. It's not like kissing or hand holding and it's kept to one's self and close friends and aquaintances. In actuality, it's a useless fact for anyone else to know. It's not like you have to go around and say:
"Hi, I'm John, and I'm a foot fetishist, by the way."
Don't ask don't tell. Thats a good policy for this. Unless you feel you have to share the information or you want to, theres no other reason to, and society at large cannot differentiate you from the sicko fetishists. You blend in and they don't know, so what does it matter what the ones who don't blend in look like? They deserve to be mocked and ridiculed because it's their choice to not get ahold of themselves, but rather to stand out in an extreme and pitiful way.
The only people they make look bad are themselves, as this is a display, on their part, of the inability to control one's self. It's not so much about the fetish (as society could wrap it's mind around why a foot fetish is appealing to some) but how and whether it is contained or not and put to public use. These people cannot contain it, and they choose to not refrain from airing their dirty laundry, so they get laughed at. It's that simple.
As long as the rest of you are cool and chillin', and ain't sweatin' this $hit, it's all good, since, if you really think about it, these creeps are doing you all a favor- they're showing the parts of society that are not as judgemental as the rest that there is a difference between you and them, and you guys don't have to do anything to gain that acknowledgement, since you're not a body of people advocating anything. You're regular joes like everyone else, and these people could care less if you had a fetish.
Live and be happy, guys; you're not these sickos in the news. Don't hold yourself to a secret standard like this and then let this guy tarnish it. What standard is there to begin with? Knowing you're not like these sickos should be enough to reassure yourselves, personally, that not only are you normal human folk, but are also full of respect, decency and responsibility for yourselves and others. Thats something society can respect and it's something that society can accept, regardless of what kinks you have. You're no different than me or the others you worry are judging you. Caring what a fraction of society thinks of you and then multiplying that by what these creeps do is complete foolishness. Give yourselves more credit or shut the hell up.
