I'd say the second pic clearly shows those were live feet still attached to a living person.

All those tools - cutlery, syrup, and the candle - hint it.

The first one made me thought of the hands from the Addams family movie - the second shows clearly the legs. That's why it's funny 🙂

I was checking the pics for fake signs...

It has been manipulated: they cropped the upper half, to cut out the rest of the room.

But if you check the dish closely, you can see the toes reflect properly.

And if you look closely, on the silver cover, held by the gloved hand, you can see the photographer holding a camera!

Since the black cropping makes the pic look way darker than it originally was, the feet's shadows look too pale.

It's just because they probably shot the pic in a well lit room, with light coming in from outside - and the candle light just was too tenous to cast any reflex or shadow on the feet. 🙂
