I understand why this question is for women, but i couldn't imagine having to make a decision like that. My heart goes out to you ladies who are in positions that just seem to have no good outcome.

I only have one view on abortion and that is the government shouldn't be involved in delicate personal/family decisions. That doesn't mean I agree with...I just feel it isn't the government that should make that kind of choice especially extenuating circumstances like she just mentioned.

I am looking forward to reading the different opinions on this issue. Like I said though, my heart goes out to those who have to make a choice so difficult as that.

That would be classified as the second option dear.., this is more About the rights and wrongs of abortion, whether theres a reason behind it or not

The person spoke at length about her heart condition, and I could understand "dying for a cause" but if you have a medical condition where getting pregnant or giving birth is dangerous, then there is NO cause you have two choices: abort and kill the fetus, or both die due to complications. I think alot of the anti-abort people always think that even in health complications, the fetus should still be delivered, well ALOT of the times its not the case, if it dangerous for you to get pregnant that means there's a chance the fetus won't survive either! So what's the point of dying if the unborn child won't survive anyway?

As a female I completely agree with this. If you are asking about a situation based off a medical issue then that should be included. To me the options posted really don't cover the circumstances that you are addressing in your opening post. In the situation you are addressing I think abortion has a justified reason. If that pregnancy is going to kill you and with what conditions you state above you won't make it to labor. So you will have risked your life for a possible live birth that more than likely will not have been possible.

If your heart can't support you during the pregnancy then it sure can't support a child's. You'll be condemning both mother and child to death. All children are a little blessing but if there's a higher chance that you'll die before that child can live then to me that's a waste of life. If you want to still be a mother there are plenty of children that are in need of homes.

A woman is not an involuntary greenhouse. The choice has to be hers. If a country decides to put the issue to a vote, referendum or plebiscite, eligibility should be restricted to women of legal age up to a pre-agreed average age for menopause, with women in celibate religious orders disenfranchised. That way only those women capable of bearing children and thus directly affected will determine the outcome.

But you know, we realiy do have to hear from women in this thread. Men, let's stay out of this.
