How close we all can seem...

I don't often read this General Discussion area, but the other day I stumbled across the series of threads from earlier this year regarding "slave4tickles" and her tragedy.

After reading them all, I was struck by what could only be described as an initial, deep sense of sadness, and for someone whom I've never met, personally, nor even corresponded with here on the TMF, I don't believe.

My heart goes out, not only to Katherine, but also to her friend Kandy here, who must be struggling with more than I could imagine, and to Katherine's family. Please know, all of you, that even distant strangers are pulling very hard for her full recovery.

I also wanted to comment on how close this community seems, even though most of us don't really know each other at all.

After reading about "slave4tickles" here, something reminded me that her picture might be on the TMF members site. As soon as I pulled it up, I remembered exactly my first impression of her, when she first posted her photo. I remember thinking, "what a delightful looking young lady-- full of life, and probably a little mischief as well!" Then, I don't think I even thought about that picture again, until I started to read about her recently.

Yet, now that I also have a "face" to go with all that I"ve read about her from her friends and well-wishers here, it's almost as if I do know her in a small way, and it begins to explain these feelings of sadness, and now most definitiely hope, that I have for her and those closest to her, who really do know her.

For some inexplicable reason, we on this TMF all seem to be more closely knit than I'm guessing people find themselves on other forums (whether it's true, or not, I have no idea). But whatever the reason, I'm glad to know that there are others-- strangers-- who will be there for us, even if only in prayer.

Please let Katherine know that she is still in our prayers. So are you too Kandy. Take care, I know it is going to take some time but I believe that Katherine will fully recover. Today was a good day for Katherine, her speech was not slurred today and she is talking much better. She is working very hard, taking a lot of therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy. She also has a tutor that comes and works with her teaching the basic's that we learned in Kindergarden, she is doing well although she gets frustrated a great deal especially with me and her Mama. But all in all she is doing great! Thanks to all who have asked about her, remembered her in your prayers, for all the get well wishes and get well cards for her! Just for your love and support I say thank you and God bless! Your kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered!

For those who have wrote and asked about Katherine

Just so I don't leave anyone out, Katherine is doing better with each new day.🙂 Her speech has improved greatly! Her physical therapy as well as speech therapy is going well, she has at least another month of it. She has worked hard these past months, however 🙁 her she still doesn't know us. 🙁 The doctors tell us that all we can do is wait. She may or maynot get it back. I've learned the hard way, the brain is complicated! I'll leave it at that, but I would like to thank you all for all your love, support and above all your prayers! Thank you for the notes, the get well wishes too! They do mean alot!

I had a neighbor some years back who was in an auto accident and suffered injuries much like Katherine. We became friends over time. I was wondering, is Katherine's vision ok? That was a bad part of my friend's injuries. She could see well enough to get around, but she couldn't watch television and she had a great deal of trouble reading.

add me and my family. We have prayed for her and her family. Head injuires are if'y if you will. SS asked if her eye sight is ok, was it effected also? Don't give up hope, I've known cases to where it was well over a year before their memory came back and some that didn't.
In any event she is in our prayers, my friends also are praying for Katherine. God bless you all.

PS I never had much faith before, I mean I did believe in mircles I always felt they were just in the Movies. But I BELIEVE NOW!!!!! And my faith has grown stronger each down, it's good to know that you have friends. Even though they are unseen friends you still believe in them and know that they are there for you! Even though the roads of tough, it helps to know you are not alone! Thank you all again! And I forgot, yes Katherine's vision was effected at first, for about a couple of weeks but it seems to be fine now Thank God!
