For whoever knew me when I was more active...

I'm still kicking, sometimes lurking around, but haven't been active in a long time, so not to bore folks, but a bit of an explanation. My Mom had a stroke around 5 years ago, complicated by severe diabetes, affecting her temperment, walking, speech and concentration. I basically stopped a lot of extracurricular activities and pitched in, helping my Dad as brothers live out of state and my sister had to go be with one brother when his wife had developed cancer and died the fall of the same year my Mom had her stroke. She was a handful at times, declining as time went on, leading to having to place her in a nursing home earlier this year, then another hospital stay and a closer home to my Dad. All that to come to my main thought, my Mom died the day before Thanksgiving, peacefully, with my Dad and sister at her bedside, me arriving soon after. Last week was her funeral and today, the 4th would have been her 70th birthday. My friends and family have all been wonderfully supportive, and most of the time, I think I'm doing well. But today is kicking my tail andI thought this was as good as any spot to post, as well as to explain my abscence around here.
I still love the tickles and tootsies, and maybe when I've healed a bit more, I'll be back more often. I miss many of the wickedly delightful folks around here, hope things are well with whoever took the time to read my rambles. 😉

My condolences to you and your family; that had to be hard to go through, but probably relieving that she no longer suffers. I had to go down that road twice and hope to NEVER go through it again.

I hope you continually gain strength and come in when the mood suits you. We'll be here when you're here and hope that you reconnect and meet some more really cool folks around here.

Thanks to all who took the time to post and give encouragement, it means a lot at this time. My Dad's still taking it hard, but I'd expect nothing less. Going to take him to visit with some of his grandkids next week, hope it helps with the healing process.
