Forum Freezing?

Has anybody else had the forum become unavailable several times a day for about 10 minutes each time? This has happened to me about six times in the last two days, but I haven't had trouble with any other website.

You're not the only one. I've had it happen a lot over the last few days too. So have some of the other posters I've talked to. I'd thought it was just my computer until I'd spoken to some of the others and realized that wasn't the case.

I wouldn't call what happened to me freezing, but last night in about the 10pm hour the site was horribly slow. It was probably just high traffic.

I have. Just like you said. Freezes for a few minutes and I go out and come back in okay.

Not that it matters, but I saw someone suggesting we upgrade the board. If we're running on an outdated one, aren't problems like these (provided it's not bandwidth issues) because of that?

That is to say, wouldn't there be more errors using a previous version? A forum thats up to date on the latest coding and hacks should be largely freed from these types of annoyances.

This upgrade wouldn't be free, however...

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured here was as good a place as any, since it has something to do with this. The past little while, the forum has been freezing up pretty badly, oftentimes not being up for hours on end. Today it's been up, but it's been running really slowly, and I've been getting some sort of "Runtime Error" message. I thought maybe it was my computer, so I ran the normal scans and checks, then got back in, but sure enough, it happens again. Now, I've talked to a couple of the other posters, and they've been having the same problem. Any idea what's going on?

I've been looking at it as well... there's nothing actually... "wrong" except it doesn't work at the same speed it should.

I was having the same loading and slowdown issues earlier. Since I have a fast computer and connection, and the rest of the internet isn't affected, its a natural conclusion that its this site, again.

Its most likely the same type of problem again, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless its prolonged for too large a timeframe.

lol I was thinking about posting about this myself, but didn't have the nerves to "judge" the site's loading speed and functionality.

Yea... Yesterday at the evening I couldn't almost browse at all and sometimes the site didn't respond, when I typed it to my firefox's address-bar. 🙁
Must be the new host or something... But I'm not complaining. It's free anyhow.

Yes, there is a problem with the server. Infojoe is in contact with technical support staff and hopes to have the forum restored to normal soon.

I type the address and it either comes up that the page cannot be displayed or the msn search engine comes up, as if this site didnt even exist.

I can obviously acces the site now, just couldnt 2 days ago.

It also is very slow for me as well.

Site is working fine for me today (and I have a really crappy computer.) It wasn't loading at all the day before yesterday though, and had much lag yesterday.

p.s. for those that have been wondering, the freezes you were suffering from, 95% sure that it wasn't a problem on your end. Always good to check for viruses and spyware tho 😉

Yep I have been having a lot of trouble for about a week now. I have been unable to access the site at all for many hours at a time. It will go to my dell support center because it cannot find the site. Most of the time when I click on forum posts or links in the forum, the loading time is horrific, and then 10 mins later you will come back and once again the whole site is unavalable. Tats my experience, hope it helps.
