After hearing just "Flurries" when I went to bed last night, I awakened this morning to an unpleasant surprise.. A Winter Storm Watch, for four to eight inches of snow, has been posted for the NYC metro area, from Tuesday afternoon, through early Wednesday.

Hopefully, the storm will veer out to sea, or miss giving NYC a direct hit, but, this is the forecast that is posted on weather.com.

www.weather.com if anyone wants to see the forecast.

The situation has worsened. The watch has just been changed to a Warning, and they are now forecasting six to ten inches.

The situation continues to worsen. The forecast posted at www.weather.com, now calls for between eight and twelve inches of snow. This is a significant increase from the original expected totals.

Not to.. but.. I'm reminded of the Blizzard of 1996, when I still lived in Fort Lee, NJ. The "Original" expected totals for that storm, were 6 inches. NYC ended up getting 21 1-2 inches of snow, as it snowed for 36 hours straight.

It doesn't mean that this storm will be nearly as bad as the one in 1996, but.. the forecast situation seems to be getting worse as time goes on.

Believe it or not, I actually had a model show up today, another on her way! I know I am stuck here, so is the cute redhead coming, lol. Definitely a day to stay indoors, brutal.

be warm and safe....so I guess she's in for a surprise all night tickling??????? get her good, please and save some for me, please

The expected snowfall totals have now increased.

According to www.weather.com... Nine inches of snow is currently on the ground in Forest Hills, with "Rapidly accumulating snow" falling.

The expected snowfall totals have now been increased to anywhere between 10 and 14 inches for NYC, with locally higher amounts.

Someone I work with lives in Yonkers, and there is already supposedly eleven inches of snow on the ground there.

Can anyone say "Blizzard of 1996".

They said that perhaps another five inches might fall here before the storm ends, which would put the total at 14 inches, certainly a mammoth storm.

She is either really dedicated to her work, or very broke.

The snow continues to pile up. According to www.weather.com, 11 inches is now on the ground in Forest Hills, with higher amounts elsewhere, and snow is still falling heavily, with at least another four inches expected.

The latest report for Forest Hills on www.weather.com is that thirteen inches of snow is on the ground here, snow is still falling, and blowing and drifting around. They said up to another 3 inches could fall before it finally tapers off.
