Okay, so I stumbled onto this photo about a month ago. At first, I liked it, but didn't give it much thought. The next time I looked at it, however, I started getting obsessed with the scene. Why? Let's survey the landscape here:
The photo appears to take place in a warehouse. In this storage facility, right next to a stack of boxes, are a stack of tightly bound women. Four women stacked on four shelves. Each one was placed on a hunk of styrofoam, then tightly encased in blue cling wrap from neck to ankles. Yeah, but are these parcels secured for shipment? Better cinch up the wrapping with industrial-strength tie-wraps placed every six to twelve inches. To keep the cargo as noise-free as possible, wide tape gags seal each mouth. Each are then placed on shelves with their bare feet placed strategically to protrude slightly past the end of each shelf. Now we're getting somewhere!
Although the relatively low resolution of the photo turns the following observations into guesstimates, here's how I see it. Each woman has a printed paper notice attached to her shelf. I cannot make out a single word on these. My guess (hope) is that these notices describe the contents of each bundled package. The reader then may be encouraged to "try 'em before you buy 'em" as potential buyers are directed to the other end of the shelving where exposed regions of the products can be tested for responsiveness, structural quality, softness, etc. The discerning buyer now has unrestricted access to eight soles.
The graininess of the photography makes the next observation open to the eye of the feather-holder. It appears to me that the feet are connected by a thin brown rope (possibly cowhide). It is possible that this brown binding can be seen cinching the ankles of the woman on the second shelf from the bottom. Alternatively (and for me, preferably), the big toes of each pair might be secured together with toe ties that are then connected to the women on the other shelves.
So how might this work, exactly? I suspect the pair of soles on the bottom shelf are anchored to that shelf, unable to move upward. The feet on the rest of the shelves are then tied together, but with enough slack that the ankles can move upward. As evidence, I present the straight brown line running from the ankles on shelf one, straight to those on shelf two, then tautly running to the third-shelf ankles. Here we find a naughty girl, fighting in vain to free herself, but yanking inadvertently on the feet below her as she arches her legs upward. Notice then that this movement allows more slack as the brown binding billows out as it reaches the final tickle targets on shelf four. Of course, when the fiery redhead next drops her feet back downward, the bundled inhabitant of shelf four will find her ankles yanked forcefully downward. Introduce actual tickling and observe the four women yanking each other's feet around as they reflexively attempt to avoid tickling that will not be denied. You know... The customer is always right!
Well maybe I have examined this photo with the same scrutiny brought to the Zapruder film. I just find this one of the more creative scenarios I've seen in years. And it begs the question: where are the rest of the photos? Surely someone didn't create such an intricate bondage scene to only snap one photo! So, I have been searching the Internet in every nook and nookie I could think of, but have still only found this one pic. Gawd damn, people... Someone has to know who put this out or where more photos can be found. Please bring these photos here or at least join the search. Show me the mummies!
