Ok, so I'm a little exctited. I mean, I've only been waiting since, oh, 1990 for anything new from the original line-up of Asia. Forget that Geoff Downes/John Payne fronted nightmare that called itself Asia all that time...this is the real deal. After reuniting in '07 for the 25th anniversary of the monster first album that became the soundtrack of the 80's for so many of us, the original members of Asia finally got back together for an album of all new material.
Here's a link to the lead-off track "Never Again" from the new disc "Phoenix". Personally, I love this tune. It's very reminiscent of the early 80's material, that unique cross between progressive rock and radio-friendly AOR that defined Asia. And, while you're there, some other excellent tracks are "Alibis", "An Extraordinary Life" and "Orchard of Mines". I haven't heard a track from this yet that I haven't liked.
