Fox's TV Network has a hit with Kevin Bacon’s The Following…
The show has a 4.7 rating...
The FBI estimates there are at least 300 serial killers in the United States.
If they could all communicate and recruit helpers... Well that's the basis for
a New show on Fox entitled The Following.
Kevin Bacon plays Ryan Hardy, a former FBI agent who, in 2003, led the FBI team which
captured serial killer Joe Carroll.
In the take-down Hardy is stabbed in the heart by Carroll, requiring him to wear a pacemaker,
Hardy is called back to service as a consultant after Joe Carroll escapes prison. Hardy
wrote a book on the Joe Carroll case entitled "The Poetry of a Killer".
James Purefoy stars as Dr. Joe Carroll, an ex-professor of English literature with a focus on
the romantic period at Winslow University, and a budding novelist. Believing, like his hero
Edgar Allan Poe, in the "insanity of art", he initially began to make "art" by disembowelment
of 14 female students. In prison (Virginia Central Penitentiary, Waverly, Virgina), Carroll
gathers a cult-like group of followers, who are willing to murder, kidnap, and do anything to
please Joe.
FBI Specialist DEBRA PARKER played by (Annie Parisse), is brought in to lead the
investigation into Carroll and his followers
The show is full of drama violence suspense and unexpected scenes. The Following is
never what it seems.
