Free Clip Site Coming Soon (But Some Questions First . . . )

As I've mentioned in a few previous posts, I am looking to create a site where people can download free clips. It's not going to be extravagant -- maybe 1 or 2 clips every week or so, until I run out of clips to post -- but it's my way of contributing to the community. Also, before anyone criticizes me for detracting from the business of the producers, I have e-mailed as many producers as I can think of, and so far have approvals from some of the bigger producers on the forum to host their old free clips (they really are nice people, everyone; you should get to know them sometime 🙂 ) I'll do my best to post details about the clip, i.e., length, file size, who's tickling who, and my opinion of the clip. This will come sooner rather than later. However, I'll say right off the bat that I am a college student, and while I love the community, I have grades to maintain and social obligations to fulfill, so the clip a week number is simply an estimate. Also, I have a limited supply of clips, so I'm going to post what I've got; therefore, the clips may not be appeasing to everyone. And above all, remember, I'm doing this to be nice; if enough people start getting on my back about clip selection, update time, etc., I have no qualms about shutting down.

OK. I feel better now 🙂 Anyway, before I start doing this, I'm still waiting to hear back from several producers, including:
Silvercherry
Laughing Gas Zone
Brazilian Tickling
Tickling Paradise
So, if these producers want to check their email for my letter, or else respond in this thread to let me know what stipulations are required so that I may host clips from your respective companies, I'd appreciate it. Also, I'm a little shady on the use of free clips from websites like French Tickling, ANA, etc. that still exist, as well as seemingly defunct sites like Vellication Video.

Now I'm going to make an observation, and please don't think I'm being a smart-ass or a cynic or a doomsayer or a nasty person..

but onward...

If you plan to use YAHOO to host the site, one new clip every six months will will be sufficient 'cause we won't be able to get them anyway.
YAHOO shuts down the site after more than 37 bytes have been downloaded in a 24-hour period, so keep those clips short !!

Not A Chance

Perhaps I should've been more specific. I wouldn't use Yahoo Groups if my life depended on it 🙂 First, I don't like that you have to subscribe to the group to access the clips. Secondly, the bandwidth issues would just cause people to get frustrated, and I'm trying to run a HAPPY site 🙂

I'm looking at web sites I can work on. Sadly, it's looking like Geocities is the most realistic option, though I'm loathe to use any of the free site places because of the bandwidth limits. I've yet to find one that has enough to handle all the downloading that will inevitably occur. However, I am open to producers trading me a site for advertising (I've already had one or two nibbles on that)

Also, if anyone has any knowledge of HTML and wants to help me set up the site, I'd appreciate the aid. Hey, I have lots of hurdles to clear, but I DO love challenges 😀

Free Video CLip Site

I to think it is great. Feel free to use my clips. I will be re-adding them to my site soon or you can contact me for them. My only word of caution is to make sure that where ever you host them, that they allow enough bandwidth for the downloading that will happen. If not then your site will eather go dead or cost you a ton of money. That is why I haven't had any clips on my site since Thanksgiving. I finally found someone who will offer me enough bandwidth to let my visiters download to their hearts content.

I apologize. I completely forgot about your site. Well, I shall forget no more 🙂 Thanks for the use of your clips and the advisement of bandwidth. We can discuss some way to get those clips (perhaps a commonly accessed yahoo! briefcase or something?)

Now if only I could wave some kind of flag to Silvercherry . . . 😉

Sorry to Bump This Back Up . . .

Can somebody help me get in touch with Silvercherry, LGZ, and Brazilian Tickling? I figured that perhaps they just hadn't posted anything new yet (and thus hadn't seen this), but all three producers have done so. Guys, if you read this, e-mail/PM me as to whether it's ok for me to post your free preview clips. And if someone else talks to any of these producers on a regular basis, can they let them know I'm asking about them?

Free Video Clip Site

Hi There,

Once thing you might consider that may get you more co-operation is to offer full credit to the producer with their clips and a link with the clips to the appropriate site if folks want to order the videos.

Sorry if I harassed you at all with that. I just have enough of your clips that I just wanted to make sure. I'll e-mail you in the next few weeks with a list of what I can find on my drive, and we'll work from there 🙂

Laugher - I actually covered all that in the general e-mail I forgot to send to you 😉 Whatever clip I post for that week will have a noticeable link accrediting the clip to whatever producer it comes from. Like I told others, I'm not out to screw the community, because I fear the retribution; I mean, who knows what Godfather-esque things you all can do? 😉 I may have a set links page as well, but I'm still wavering on that. Nevertheless, the clip itself will be linked and rightly attributed. Sorry I haven't e-mailed you back, but I don't really have an address that you could send the CD to. My dorm address is checked by my college, and my home address is checked by my father, and neither one would most likely like seeing that in the mail 🙂 I'll work out something though.
