French Tickling Beware!!!!

I went to French Tickling site today on two different PC's and was hacked by several viruses and a trojan horse!!!!

I didn't investigate much, but it seems there is some kind of (buggy) java applet on it. I do not think I got hacked, but my navigator went mad (had to kill him).

It looks like someone added an invisible section to the page, which contains the http://best-voyeur.info/img/ website. I didn't manage yet to understand what is the problem with best-voyeur, for me it's an (almost normal) empty page.

If anyone knows something about all this...

I don't know whether popup blockers may help, but there is a quite similar easy solution to work around: edit c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and a line saying "127.0.0.2 best-voyeur.info". It will tell to your computer that the name "best-voyeur.info" points to your machine, and then he won't try to access that thing anymore.

We've had several reports of this -- apparently the site was hacked by one of the myriad Internet Explorer or Java exploits.

I would urge all Windows users to ensure that your system is fully patched (using Windows Update), and also to update your Java Runtime Environment to at least version 1.4.2_06 or higher (www.java.com). This will reduce possible attack routes for malicious code to infect your system.

Best of luck,

Or do what more and more people do: get a mac. I have had mac computers for 11 years for all kinds of surfing and have never got a singe virus, hack, trojan, spyware, exploit och malicious code. And more, it is fun to use and it allows me to enjoy French Tickling safely.

amen

i read about this virus crap and just look at my mac and say 'thanks'....

Wow. I regularly download from that site and I don't think I have encountered any problems. I do have the popup blocker enabled if that helps. No wonder we hate the french so much! great site though.

yep... My FW/AV warned me too ... but their crappy viruses/trojans couldn't scratch my FW/AV 😀😀😀😀

Or you just haven't spotted them yet? 😉 Most viruses don't actually do anything that reflects itself... it means you probly just don't see what the virus is doing on your comp 😉

Does this affect firefox?
If it's the Bofra exploit, it (so far) only affects unpatched versions of Internet Explorer, so Firefox should be immune. You should still keep Internet Explorer fully patched and updated, however, because some exploits can affect IE indirectly (such as through a malicious .mht file or e-mail).
