G4 R.I.P.

For those of you who know. G4 (tv for gamers) channel has been slowly dying for the past few years. It started with shows that were strickly rooted in games and computers in some form, be it cheat codes, game character mockermentaries, information, etc. but that is all about to end since the two final shows are now going away as 2013.

Mixed reactions about this because some gamers and fans of the channel think it has lost its way long time ago. Replacing these original shows with a Cops or campus police marathon every day. (not kidding.) Who wants to watch a marathon of these shows everyday let alone on a known gaming channel. So the G4 now stands for (tv for GQ) channel. Nerds and geeks aren't hip as the jersey shore crowd.

So alot of people are sad to see the format of the channel that only shows reality or sureality shows now and feel its been dying for years; no gamer is actually morning it. Which is one reason the network is changing it. However, in my opinion, they are being asses...they have been killing it since that day. Slowly replacing "gaming shows" with crap I can see on other channels not even romotely related to gaming. So of course there is no longer an interest in the channel by a lot of gamers...duh!!!

They offered us a blue car which we liked then repainted it red, which we didn't like. Then said since you all don't want the red car we will just sell it to someone else cause you aren't showing anymore interest. jerk offs!!! That doesn't make sense.

This is how I felt about the Sci-Fi channel(now, Syfy). At least Chiller has not gone down that route, totally.

G4 started dying for me around the time they changed The Screensavers to Attack of the Show...about the same time that the PS3 and 360 were finding their feet as systems. I'm kinda glad they got rid of some shows - the review show with Tommy Tellarico in particular because he was an annoying prick. They had this formula they seemed to use: Get rid of the current presenter of a show and replace with a generic hot girl. When that didn't work, get rid of the show. They did that for Cheat, replacing that geeky looking guy with some American Idol dropout who didn't know shit about video games. Ninja Warrior was the only good reality show they aired, just because it appealed to geeks, then they overdid it and replayed it over and over and over. This game show is like a bi-annual event that spans a day or 2 in Japan, you can't make a long-running series out of it. And the American version was just pathetic. The screaming Japanese commentator and the crazy competitors are what gives that show it's charm, not watching douchebaggy frat boys demonstrate their bromantic free-running skills. I even lost touch with X-Play which was my favorite of the lot.
