Gardening Help!!

I recently took up gardening. As a way to get a bit more sun and more exercise to help with my arthritis. 🙂

I have a bunch of Bauhinia Varigeta seeds which is a very nice Pink Orchid tree from Asia. It loves it here in So California. Well I have a bunch of seedling now, over 50 of them. I have some pictures of them below. They are so cute 🙂 However some bugs are eating up my babies. I dont see anything on the leaves except for some black spots which I thought were the bugs at first but I remove them and it seems more show up. I am getting little holes in the leaves and sometimes parts of the leaves are eaten up. In one case it looks like something is tunneling under the leaf. I think there might be a few kind of bugs munching on them but I dont see any bugs to pick them off. Very aggravating.

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

There are sprays that are safe to use on even with animals that kill those bugs. 🙂

I heard of something called BioNeem its suppose to be all organic. 🙂

Thanks I ordered some BioNeem but it will be awhile before it gets here. 🙁 I hope my plants are still healthy by then.

You can make an insecticidal soap from home to spray on your seedlings. I'm sure if you googled insecticidal soap or tried youtube you would someone making it. Good Luck

Thanks I have heard of people doing that. Currently I am just picking off the bugs as I see any. 😀
Its a very special little tree. I have had like 6 or 7 people knock on my door asking for cuttings saying the tree saved their life or a life of a loved one. All of Bauhinia variety are considered to be sacred to Buddhists I think. Least thats what it said on the net. LOL I just love the tree and its flowers. Hummingbirds go crazy over the flowers.

There is a soap that comes in a bar form called Fells Napta that I have known other people to use for bugs. I can find it in the grocery stores here in NJ. The little black things might be dung... ......just sayin'
