German soccer ladies beat US team

Everybody who knew that the US soccer ladies held the previous World Champion title at Women Soccer raise their hands! 🙂

This year's world championship tournament takes place in the USA, and yesterday, the German team beat the US ladies 3:0 in the semifinals.

Women soccer is not that well-known at all, neither in the US where soccer plays a minor role, nor in Europe where it is sport #1. Nevertheless, it gains in popularity slowly.

Just an amusing side-note among all the recent bad news... 😎

I Tended To Think..

The US Ladies may have been a tad bit over rated in the last couple years, especially after Brandi Chastain got injured. We've not really done anything to get better, while the rest of the world has. It's the same thing with Basketball. I'm also wondering what effect playing Norway so early in the tourny had to do with the US performance. Norway was a hell of a physical game, and when you beat the team you know you have to beat, sometimes the letdown can kill you.

That's not to take anything away from the German ladies. They earned their victory through hard work and deserve all the accolades they get. The US Win a few years back was a huge kickstart to womens soccer all over the world especially the US. I'm thinking we didn't reap the benefits teams like Germany reaped because it appears all the youngsters who worked like hell made the German team. In the US it seems we stuck to the older gals when what we should have done was maybe get some of the younger ladies who the older gals inspired onto our team.

I was switching channels back and forth between the soccer and the baseball. That German goalie (Rottenberg) made some fine saves, grabbing the ball virtually off of Hamm's shoes in one case.

Now, back to the main topic:
I was thinking of writing a story about a man who is kidnapped by a women's soccer team and kept as a mascot/tickle toy/foot worshipper ...

What realt matters

What realy matters is if Canada can beat the Yanks for the Bronze. Kicking your ass in Hockey and soccer would realy be cool. Will this sibling rivealry never end LOL.
