The GI Doctor's office was especially crowded with people on that day, full of the "Elite" people of New York City who could afford the "Boutique Doctor's Services"
Ross waited his turn, and then explained his symptoms to the Doctor.
"Doctor, I seem to have a lot of blood when I go. It's very scary. Do you think I need a colonoscopy?" Ross asked Doctor N
"Ross, you just had a colonoscopy less than three years ago. My notes say every five years for you. You have a lot of hemorrhoids. I'm going to give you a special prescription cream, and please try to change your habits with going"
While Ross had taken a car over there, he decided to take a long walk home. When Ross got back to town, he decided to "Chow down" on a burger and fries, and then went home to Kayley.
"Okay, what did Doctor N say?" Kayley said.
"Doctor N said it's hemorrhoids. He gave me a strong prescription cream. Since it's so late in the day, they will have it ready tomorrow. I will try it, and hopefully it will work" Ross said.
That night, Ross was restless. Ross and Kayley held each other, but other than kissing Kayley, Ross was not in the mood to do much else.
Ross knew that until he tried the cream, and hopefully said medicine at least "Calmed the symptoms down" That Ross needed to "stay put" No OKC trips , or screwing around.
The next morning, Ross awakened, showered,, donned his "Work uniform" of a blue blazer, slacks, white shirt, loafers, and a tie in his pocket, and went into RossShell's office.
When Ross got to the office, said his hellos, and looked through his mail and email, which was not nearly as the amount of mail which used to come since Ross had turned the day to day operation of the company over to Vic.
Ross's favorite sport, was, of course, baseball.
Ross sighed, sat at his desk, reflected, and thought to himself.
"I used to be the "power hitter" of RossShell, the guy who "Drove all the runners in to score, and who "made the team go, and win"
Now, it seemed like Ross was a "pinch hitter, regulated to the bench, or to "certain situations" for the good of the team;
There was little or nothing which Ross could do.
Ross had to stay put in town, both due to his health, and to keep his relationship with Kayley calm. Kayley always knew that Ross would make trips to OKC for several days each month to "make his deals with Fritz, Steve, and the investors" Such had been a monthly "habit " for decades.
There were no more trips to Toronto, at least for now. There was a "possibility" of a Toronto division, but Ross, Fritz and Steve were being very cautious after what had happened with John Fish.
Steve would embark on the Alaska trips due to Fritz and Ross's health issues.
Simply put, Ross felt like he had been , if not "forced" more so, maneuvered into what was basically a semi retirement, for the good of life globally.
The Bottom Line, was that all seemed calm and quiet for Ross, maybe for the first time in his life.
Ross did not dare mess with how well Vic seemed to be running RossShell. Ross and Vic engaged in "discussions", but more often than not, Vic ran the day to day operation.
As for Kayley. Ross and Kayley's marriage and relationship was probably more loving and calm, for a sustained period of time, than maybe at any time in the 27 years which they had been together.
What was Ross to do? Keep things status quo as they were business wise, and receive love and sex from his wife on a regular basis?
Or.
Return to Ross's "Old way" of doing business, deceitful? Taking unwise chances, having fighting, screaming, and cursing fests with Kayley on a regular basis, which would strain Ross and Kayley;s marriage, as well as Ross's health.
Somehow, some way, Ross wanted to try to find something, something, maybe a side deal, a small company, or something to do, which would not involve or affect his smooth relationship with Kayley, the day to day operation of RossShell, or how Ross had RFS set up and running with Fritz and Steve.
What would that possibility be, if anything?
That would be seen.
