Tickling can be a way for gorillas to communicate and establish social relationships with others, including other gorillas as well as humans.

Funnily enough, this was actually really cool to see because I did a paper on Koko the Gorilla back in school (She was famous for doing sign language) and in doing so, watched a lot of older footage of her and her trainer Penny. And I always thought Penny was cute and would’ve been fun to tickle. So this was an absolutely adorable clip. Thanks for the find!

That was AWESOME! Thanks! The woman was so pretty and her playful reactions were adorable! Also liked how it said primates like to engage in tickling to bond at the end. We in the community can use that to defend ourselves against anti-ticklers out there by arguing that tickling is natural lol. Gorillas are definitely my spirit animal lol.

I’m glad you guys like it 🙂. I found it on accident and thought it was really cute and playful. I think she might just be hamming it up a bit for the gorrilla so I’m not sure how much of her reaction is genuine but it’s adorable none the less.
