Last time I checked, it was Kyle Rayner.
Hal Jordan has been through a lot since you last saw him as GL, Q. He went mad when his hometown was blown up by the alien warlord Mongul, and he went on a doomed quest to thump all the other Green Lanterns in the galaxy and take their rings to increase his own power. He believed that the combined might of the entire GL Corps would be enough to restore his home. It wasn't. He took to calling himself Parallax and became something of a villain. After a few years of grief-fueled rage and other bad behavior, he tried to make amends by taking on a spacegoing doomsday organism called the Sun Eater in the "Final Night" story arc. Hal charges towards the heart of this star-devouring dust cloud and starts to unleash his full store of power into it, defiantly roaring his signature verse one last time: "In Brightest Day, in Darkest Night, No Evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship Evil's might beware... my... power... GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!!!!!!!!" Even though it's kilometers-wide cloud with no facial features, you can still tell that the Sun Eater is scared of Hal. Unable to absorb such power, Hal's final burst of energy immolates the Sun Eater and himself, and he dies as a Green Lantern and a hero once more. But Hal's journey isn't over yet, as he has become the new Spectre, seeking to spend eternity as the Spirit of Vengeance making up for the damage he caused during his fallen period.
