GROUNDHOG DAY 2012.

Groundhog Day, woohoo!

Luckily our winter has been VERY mild, not a whole lot of snow this year, I am very grateful! Spring can come any day though... please?

carl, I'm sorry to say, my friend, that I have a hard time believing Phil's prediction. How can we have six more weeks of winter, when we've hardly had winter at all this year? The forecast for Lancaster for the next ten days is for sunny weather, and temps in the 40s. That's hardly "winter weather".

I saw that one groundhog, General Lee, I believe, didnt see his shadow, and forecast an early spring.

Mitch

what winter? It has been in the 70s for most of January.

Mitch: What is the prediction from the Quarryville groundhog?

screw the rat

Lets cook em and eat him. I live in the ny area and the weather has been in the near sixtees. We have had hardly any snow this year. Hopeing for an early spring.

It was a sunny day here, so if any ground hogs live in Central Park, then they saw their shadows today.

It has been a mild winter so far after a freak October snow storm here.
After last year's blizzards, I'll take a mild winter. 😀

Mitchell gave the report on Atlanta's General Beauregard Lee. He saw no shadow, so an early spring. With the mild winter so far, I imagine the bugs this spring will be rampant. I had read some of the fruit trees need so much cold weather in winter to produce, but as has been said a late frost is a crop killer.

^Thanks for your report on General Beauregard Lee. If the fruit trees blossom early and then you get a severe frost, then there will be low fruit production.^
