Happy Birthday Mickey!

Yay, Mickey! Like Chaplin, still recognized the world over! Amazing.

I never felt I got enough Mickey Mouse when I was a kid! He was always a little distant! I always wanted more Mickey Mouse, more Mickey Mouse cartoons so i could see what he was really about. As opposed to just seeing his face plastered everywhere. Am I the only one who felt this way? He was more like a retired legend. I knew Bugs.......I knew Tom & Jerry.....but you had to wait a whole week just to get a two-minute Mickey Mouse cartoon. If you were lucky, that is, often he wasn't on at all. So I never took Mickey Mouse for granted!

(Now I've got all the Mickey I could ever want! bwahahahahahaha!)

Any favorite Mickey cartoons? Are you more partial to any of the other characters? Donald Duck is hilarious, I think we can all agree on that.

Ok, ok I admit it, I always wanted Mickey to tickle Minnie, there I said it! Happy?

(and then there was the time Mickey did this......)

(opening narration in Spanish but best quality on You Tube)

See you real soon....😉

'Net, I hear you. Never could understand why they were so stingy with Mickey's cartoons. For those that don't know, from 1921-24 Walt Disney had a studio in Kansas City Missouri, at 1127 E. 31st Street. And it was there that the seed of an idea that would become the worlds most famous mouse was planted.

When I was living in KC during the late 90s to early 2000s the building was on the verge of collapse but I understand its been at least somewhat restored. If it's not already, that building should be on the National Register of Historic Places.

For some reason Back in the 70s I rarely saw mickey cartoons, but I saw a hell of Donald duck. I was lucky enough to go to our local broadcast station in the early 80s as field trip. And I asked why no mickey. And they said oddly enough. Good question

That's what I'm talking about, Mr. Cool, I'm the same age as you!

But apparently.....Bugman had the same experience and he's a generation older than us!

And yes, Donald Duck was plentiful! Which was fine by me because I thought DD was hilarious. But Mickey was almost like a guest star!

"Good question", they said to you. See? THEY didn't even know!
