Happy birthday... to me

yeah, it's my 25th birthday today, and somehow it feels like I'm stuck in the mud already. A few years ago i thought i had everything figured out, go to school, graduate, get a good job... but it hasnt quite worked out that way... i had to leave school early for financial reasons and get a full time job... its not terrible, but in some way it feels like I'm never going to live up to the goal I had set for myself. I am hoping to get back to school in the fall and study respiratory therapy. and in the mean time, I'm looking for a phlebotomist position somewhere and saving up to buy a motorcycle. I guess deep down all ive really wanted out of life is respect, freedom and a lab coat...

I wish I could offer career advice,but I can't. However I feel for ya. I will be 25 on the15th. when I was 17 I dropped out of high school and got a factory job, school was never my thing. Anyways when in the summer of 06 I started working for my father who owns an auto repair shop. His plan was that I learn the bussines and in a few years he retires, I take over. Well I do not believe I have the skills to run the bussines. I can fix things once Ive been taught how to, but I can not figure out how to fix something Ive never dealt with. Thats what makes a man a mechanic, figuring out how to fix something you've never dealt with. So at least you have training. I have nothing. most factories wont hire a person with out a high school diploma. So I'm fucked! I'm pretty sure you will succeed. Their are many positions available in health care. Good luck!

I know exactly how you feel. Sadly, I'll be 31 and don't feel I've accomplished as much as I should have in my life. But there is still time for anyone in that situation, hopeless as it seems at times. Please do have a Happy Birthday, Kris.
