I saw this and it got me curious. I don't really think that there is a specific word used in English for a female devil. She-devil could be used unofficially, but that was never meant to be a devil in an etymological sense. That word is actually a slur for a royal biatch. Though I supposed it could be softened in usage to give it a complimentary meaning.

Since "The Devil" is generally seen as singular and male it never spawned a female counter-part. Demon and demoness work because they were the plentiful subordinates in the hierarchy. When people start talking named spirits they are using the word devils incorrectly (unless we are speaking in D&D terms - even in that case they still usually are all male and named specifically. I wish my damn Monster Manual wasn't buried in my closet).

Demon is a bastardization of daemon, my nom de plume. Daemon is actually Greek for a messenger of the gods. So in that event you could tack an -ess on there to make it feminine.

A succubus is it's own thing and not really high up in the hierarchy. So you may need to engineer a word from the Greek diabolos. Even so I don't know if Greek is broken down into masculine and feminine. I suppose a she-devil is about as good as you're going to get.

Amen to that... I'm not sure I trust the guy, myself! :laughing: I'm sure Izzy has taken every precaution, though, and I plan to be ready to pound the fellow should he upset her. I have a rather intimate knowledge of all his weak points...

ah meteor...i never mentioned his name..tsk tsk...i was still being rather subtle, or trying to be..about trust though...my best friend Embraceabl also knows Crusher..and she trusts him completely as well, and she is not one to judge quickly....you can tell these things by chatting for a while with someone.either you are comfortable with them or you aren't...she says go for it..and i shall..he is a Knight...a complete and total gentleman..why some lee hasn't snatched him up quickly i'll never know..they would be treated like a princess..
