Hi folks happy thanksgiving i know i may be early but the time difference across the pond and all that.

Can i please ask you to spare a thought or prayer for all those less fortunate in theses hard economic times, sometimes just a bit of your time or some practical help may not go a miss.

While i'am on te soap box could i thank the admin for the work they put in and thank people for posting, i don't think any of us thank each other enough.


Now thats been said iam going back to being a bitch for the rest of the year, where the hell did i leave those feathers and whips 🙂:stickout😱😉:blush

Tsk Tsk and you a Ladyperson Naughty Naughty, thanksgiving does not exist in the uk and iam of jewish decent.

But i too hate the commercial side of thanksgiving, but giving out good will, and being happy towards others in these difficult times and war laden world surely can't be a bad thing.

A time to get our heads out of our backsides, and think of others, read the start of my post, i just wan't to spread some goodwill sorry you find it unacceptable.

I know up to a point where your coming from and understand but just don't feel the same waym about thanksgiving itself rather than the ugly commercialism aspect of it.

To be honest i'am suprised not shocked but suprised.

black friday and walmart yes i fully agree but thanksgiving no maybe being a brit i have the wrong impression of thanksgiving is all about.

I was just pissed because I had to work both days. :lol Now I don't have a problem with spreading good will. I just find it absurd that we only have special days where we're supposed to be good to everybody, and then for the rest of the year we're selfish and obnoxious. So, is being nice to everyone for a day spreading good will, or is it a more selfish act to make one's self feel better for being a dick the rest of the year? 😉

I just find it absurd that we only have special days where we're supposed to be good to everybody, and then for the rest of the year we're selfish and obnoxious.

Funny...I personally find it absurd that almost all the western world celebrates a holiday which entails practices during said holiday which would cause the patron icon of said holiday (a certain former archbishop of Turkey) to roll over in his grave a quadrillion times over.

But then again, our race is kind of funny that way. Speaking specifically of black Friday though, I'm just glad the store I worked for took the appropriate safety steps to ensure no one got tramples (and by appropriate I mean that they had 1 cop and 2 security guards at the doors whom promptly informed everyone if anyone got trampled there WOULD BE ARRESTS).

You raise a very good point, i try to lead a decent life all year, (i was joking about going back to being a bitch) 🙂🙂

But during the year outside family and friends i don.t do enough well i donate but not enough of me and my time to doing something positive and useful for the needy, so easter and exmas i make an effort to work a few hours for charity, but your right rest of the year nothing much happens.

Its like going to church people go easter and exmas but god is always there, but iam not all that religious.

to Purple - welcome to the super-happy-fun-contradiction party! I know you've probably been here for a while, but I figured I should come say hi 🙂 I get to deal with that lovely conundrum pretty much weekly, either seeing people that are jerks prance around at church like they can't do any wrong or hearing about all the people that that only shape up when it "matters," aka holidays. so much hypocracy is floating around that it makes my head spin, and then I even get confused and fall into it sometimes! it's pretty much a lose-lose situation for everyone involved :/ oh, and for your closing question there....I'm pretty sure the latter point is going to be the correct one, haha.

to miss hazel - suuure you're a good girl the rest of the time 😛 you just want to break out the whips and chains to get yourself into trouble, haha. I mean, you said you don't really tickle guys, so what does that mean when I come your way with a menacing look in my eye? haha

to all reading the thread and around the site: hope you all had a great thanksgiving and holiday break. except for those like Purple and I that worked, in which case hopefully you didn't lose too much sleep or get trampled by the crazy shopping crowds!
