and if so, was this based on a true story? because there were twin brother screen writers in the story and also there were twin brother screen writers who wrote the movie, "adaptation"..and in the end of the movie, the one brother was killed. the movie starred nicholas cage as both twins, meryl streep and chris cooper(who is awesome btw) and in the movie, meryl's character killed Donald. in the credits at the end, it said in loving memory of Donald what's his name.. rats i can't remember his last name.. when i saw that however i was shocked. was this movie true?

anyone, anyone??? bueller, bueller?? frey, frey? hehe..

Charlie and Donald Kaufman are the characters you speak of. Charlie is a real person -- he's the screenwriter for this film and for many other great films (like Being John Malkovich). It's been a while since I've read it, but Charlie did an interview where he said that Donald was a metaphor or foil for his own identity, but that he doesn't actually have a twin brother. I'm pretty sure he eventually confirmed that Donald never existed. The true part of the story is based on someone else.

ahh thanks... so why at the end of the movie, it said in loving memory of donald Kaufman???

I think it was a joke on Charlie's part. He's a very facetious kind of guy. I could be wrong though.
