Are we talking about soccer here? If we are its probably because soccer is'nt near as popular here as in other countries..personally i rank it with tennis and golf on a boring scale of 1 to 10 as a 10. Thats just my opinion. They are trying hard here in georgia to get people interested...they are featuring soccer stories in the paper like never before..but i remember hearing a spot on the radio where they asked people what they thought about the U.S. soccer team and most people said they thought nothing at all of it or wanted to discuss another sport..i guess the extra press is'nt working. Still i wish them well even if i can't bare to watch it. 🙂

Some folks tell me that you guys dont like any kind of sport that you dont win all the time,but think of us Brits and the tennis, we hardly ever win it but we just LOVE wimbledon even though its you guys who win it most of the time, whats going on here exactly? we have not had a Brit male win the thing for over 40 years but we just lap it up!!! very odd dont you think?

Womens Tennis as low as soccer. In fact next to Hockey I'd almost reather watch womens tennis than anything.
The women are athletic, in excellent shape, quick as cats, and strong.
Plus it's wonderful theater because none of them can stand each other. They're always taking shots at each other in the press, then they go out on the court and back it up.
Womens tennis is like the WWF (WWE), Hockey, Boxing and a beauty pageant all rolled into one.

I'll be doing enough celebrating for all the U.S. residents on the board! I think this was quite possibly our biggest win in World Cup history! However, it is not my nature to gloat, so I do appreciate you're having acknowledged it, Red! You gotta admit, we looked pretty damn good!

Incidentally, Red, let me once again congratulate you on having reached the Quarterfinals. That should be a good game against Brazil, and I'll be pulling for you. Now, I think I best get to bed , before I sleep through the match with Germany.

Anyway its good to see you are such a great patriot, and that you are supporting your country men as they do your country proud in the greatest tournament in the world, just think of it Tron....they actually play OTHER COUNTRIES to get a world title, aint that wierd?? and its all done WITHOUT body armour and the game does not stop every 5 minutes for "a word from our sponsors" or Britney Spears spewing out her latest piece of garbage.

Soccer doesn't need to stop every 5 minutes because technically it never starts. Hell grass grows faster than a soccer game. Hockey needs some padding because it's played at 60 MPH.
As for my countrymen LOL that's a laugh 🙂. When they play a real sport, I'll support them. Soccer sucks. Americans only cheer for what matters, soccer simply doesn't matter except in the 3rd world. And in case you can't see the plain truth, yes Britain is a 3rd world country. We just let her think she matters.

Ok so you have an arguably British(I hear he also claims to be Canadian) Boxing champ. Which proves if you put 1000 monkeys in a room with a 1000 type writers for 1000 years one will eventually write a work by skakespeare. Since Canada is the 51st state I guess we can claim him too.

Louis, Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, Marciano, Tyson, Frazier, Dempsey, Tunney. All Americans. Every now and then we let the rest of the world believe they are our equals.

Ya'll stick to what ya know best, Crumpets, those cute little cucumber pies, and cricket. And we'll stick to what we know best. Deciding for the world what is good for them.

Strange, I can't watch football for the fact that it appears slows to me. At least during soccer, most of the players are involved in the play. In football, most of the players are just pushing each other around like piles of refuse. Seems soccer is more dependent on ability to work as a unit, not just the size of one person smashing aimlessly into another.

*shrug* I just like soccer.
