visiting a haunted house..which do you prefer if there is that choice..to walk or ride? some theme parks have those car like thingies in which you ride thru the house....

hmm i am so damn jumpy i believe i would prefer to ride..and if i had to walk, i would keep a tight hold onto my partner...

I prefer to walk. You get to set the pace, and have fun in the maze they all have.

I have a major MAJOR fear of haunted house rides. The dark and knowing something will jump out at you - I know it's the whole point, but I'm easily as scared as any seven-year-old in those things. Either is pretty effective to me, although rides have the helpless feeling of being dragged inside.

the hollywood brother has to reach deep down inside him to all of his past experiences and must say that the hollywood brother perfers either a car ride or a boat ride. it gives you a chance to sit and let everytihng happen at the pace that the ride and the employees of the ride want it to happen. the hollywood brother has been in very little walk thru dark rides or haunted rides but the hollywood brother loves the sit down type. the boat ones under a haunted castle might make a good tunnel of love and some that sit in cars can even have projectors that put a ghostly image sitting right next to you!

If I went for haunted house rides, I'd vote for ride. But since I know how all those electronic corpses and mechanical vampires work, it's just not fun anymore.

There are a few farms near my place that offer some cool Haunted Hayrides. They are performed in horse-drawn carriages. They are like a cross between The Blair Witch and Friday the 13th. Good fun.

Haunted Houses can be cool when they are not crowded. The effect is lessened when you are milling about with other people.

Hmm...

I WORKED in a Haunted House; Good pay; always a plus.

But I would say, RIDE if given the chance. One of the last few days I was working the Haunted Schoolhouse/Laboratory, I was offered as one of my perks, to go with the rest of the Haunted Schoolhouse Staff, to walk through the Laboratory. I was scared witless and shitless, and I attempted to Put myself in the MIDDLE of the group, AWAY from the end, and the Front as well, and I kept my head low.
Everyone else was trying to leave me behind to get the WORST of it! XD

I'd imagine on a Ride, the guy behind the controls has power over how fast or how slow the car goes... and exactly who you can try to hide with. (No groups see; only fellow PASSENGERS. >🙂 )

So to get your money's worth; I'd say ride.
Speaking of rides; Somehow I got 'A Pirates Life for me' Stuck in my head now.

lol Jevil...must be that super cool avatar of yours..

I would ride AROUND it, since I don't care for them...too many nightmares as a kid as it was.

I would pick ride, as I'm more likely to be scared that way. Whenever I've done a walk through thing there may be a few jumps inside, but I quickly realize they can't touch me at all, and so it tends to lose much of the scary effect. Also, I've gone on a few hayrides myself, but being fairly accustomed to the territory and scenarios that are going to ensue, it wasn't really scary either, since I was used to it. One time one of my friends decided to scream really loud at nothing, for a normal part where the tractor was tagging us along: it was pretty funny. The tractor suddenly slowed down a lot, and a few of the other people were looking around nervously.

Ride, always ride, if given the choice.

But, imagining for a moment that I had unimaginable wealth and had perhaps gone a tad insane? I could see building an absolutely gargantuan adult walk-through Halloween maze/house/graveyard-whatever. It would be magnificent.

Rides are always going to trump, though.

My problem with walking around, As soon as something got near me, bam, right in the face. I tend to punch things that get close to me. And I always aim for the nose. If its a skeleton, hell, I'll just punch where the cartilage once was.

Have your arms tied behind your back, and your legs tied together. Then let a big guy throw you over his shoulder.

Then you can't beat anybody up! 😀

I sometimes have the same problem. Only, with me, it's a kick reflex. x) I always find myself swaying toward that when startled... xD

As for houses or hay-rides (or other means of automotive travel), I'd choose walk-in houses, 'cause it seems much more interactive, and I can go at my own pace (or the pace of my girlfriend, say, if she runs off screaming into the night, or something like that... :laughing🙂
