For example, a casual warning to an immobile lady, stretched out in an X, "Now, whatever you do, don't think about . . . uncontrollable itching. Wouldn't it be just terrible to get a horrible itch, when you're helpless to do anything about it? Just be sure to keep itching out of your thoughts."

Now, what would you think about?

And yes, exploiting an itch is altogether too much fun. Lightly stroking with a feather or tiny paintbrush, while she begs me to pleeease scratch is a delicious bit of control.
