ALL i did was download the Free player of Real Player because i saved two clips from this site onto XP Pro into the ''my music folder'' and once i installed Real Player i watched both of the clips. and right after that i unistalled real player and it said real player was uninstalled fine with no problems. But then once i started XP pro back up restarted it a Box came up and said iexplore.exe the program is Not responding then it gives me two options End and Cancel. so i clicked on cancel then after i did that i was Defraged XP Pro. and i even did the Disk Cleanup. and also even got rid of both the clips. But after i did all theses steps it still said iexplore.exe program not responding after i restarted it for the 2nd time. But once i double click on internet explore it works Fine! and my parents and i only have ''12 total'' desktop icons on the computer for XP Pro. me and my parents have only been using XP Pro for like 4 Days. and all ready this comes up 😡 Will this iexplore.exe not responding message, is it something to worry about? Will it or could cause more problems for us?

got an antivirus ?

i got the blaster worm when i went online the first time with XP

Yeah my family and i got Norton antivirus 2002 (we really need to upGrade to the 2004 one) but we haven't yet. I even did the whole system scan thing every week like they say to do.

But about my problem i got up this morning and went to the computer and that Program not repsonding box was still on there so i clicked on end now and another Box came up something about a DLL file needs to shut down this program or something. so i clicked it and it ended the Program not responding box and it also shut down XP Pro and when i restarted my computer the box hasn't came back up since then. so we'll see if it happens again but so far we're GOOD.

I think you have a Windows problem -- Real One player usually works fine with all Windows versions.

Even if the anti-virus scan is negative, try the following two things: from Start -> Run -> then type in: "chkdsk c: /f" (without the quotes) and hit enter, then type Y and enter in the black popup box that will appear, then reboot. After that is finished, try Start-> Run then type in: "sfc /scannow" (withiout the quotes) and then hit enter and let it run.

I suspect that Real One installed badly and may have corrupted your file system or possibly some Windows files. These two measures might fix it.

Best of luck,

did you tell Windows to make RM player the default player?

Norton SystemWorks can fix it probably...works great for me with progs I un-install. The registry fixing part of it is what I'm referring to.

I had a similar problem with XP but with a different program. Once the problem started it didn't go away. The problem kept deteriorating until it was a supreme pain in my butt. I tried many quick fixes that a lot of the tech web sites gave. What finally solved it was just wiping the hard drive and doing a clean install of XP. If you don't have a lot on your system I'd really suggest just doing it and solving the problem from the start. I wasted about 3 months fighting with that problem.
