So yea guys and gals I havent been on here for awhile, I've been going in and out of doctors offices and hostpitals the past month because my heart is messed up. Its not pumping enough blood through my body, so I've had test after test performed, and all my doctors tell me the best chance of me not dieing from heart failure is open heart surgey. They have to fix some of my heart valves to alowe blood to be pumped normaly. And even tho I'm one hell of a strong guy, I'm scared out of my mind. I'm 21 years old, heart surgey wasnt really on top of the list of things I'd think would happen to me now. Needless to say I know if I dont do something my heart will fail, but I always hear about heart surgey going wrong all the time. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place....ug life sucks sometimes. Well anyways Just wanted to let everyone know about this. I'll be going back to the docs this weekend to more than likly set up a date for surgey. Have a great day everyone who has a healthy heart.

the hollywood brother wishes you very good luck. It is very nerve racking to be cut open and then after the surgury until your strength returns. The good news is heart operations are done on a regular basis and are performed very well.

Hey Bushido---

I know how you feel, I've had surgeries before, though never on my heart. I'll be praying and looking forward to your safe return!🙂

It's going to be alright. I actually have had to have heart surgery before, so I know how it can be. There have ben tales of surgery gone wrong, but there are even more testimonies of it going right. I'm one of them, and when this is done, you will be too.

I know what you're going through is pretty scary man, but you need to remember something, if it wasn't this it could be something else. It's not how long you have, but what you do with the time you have. Just remeber that the surgery is there to help you. I wish you the absolute best man and try to stay happy 😎

Thx everyone for your words, I talked with my main doctor on the phone today and he advised to have it pretty soon, So I'm proubly be going under the knife next weekend

Hey man, I know what it's like to fear for your life at a young age, so just keep your head up, and I hope your surgery goes well.

My grandfather underwent emergency open-heart surgery at the age of 70, yet he recovered fully and is still going strong five years later. Modern heart surgery is safer and more effective than ever before, and your young age gives you a further advantage.

I wish you the best of luck; I'm sure you'll be posting here again sooner than you think 😎

Darn right, and you've got a bunch of peeps here who'll be eager to hear all about it who'll be glad it's gone well.

You're in my prayers bro. You're one tough dude. I'd love to hear about the whole thing as soon as you're back in good health and chasing skirts again ;o)

Well its on, on April 22 at 9:00 in the morning I'll be going to the athestigiest(I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and by 10:00 I should be on the table, and I'll be in intensive care till tuesday (Heres hoping anyway) and Then I'll be able to come home, luckly my college has a program with its up and coming nurses that are all read RA that are help out people who cant help themselves, and I'll be there for 1 week till my Mom comes to my apartment to take over since summer is coming (I hope she wont have to stay long lol) so being around the student nurses should be fun lol, but I'm still scared out my mind, but it has to be done, its either do it and go on, or dont and possiable die in who knows wehn, so I chose the first one. So after next week, it might be awhile till I get back to the TT. I'll keep posting going up to the surgey, and afterwords. Night all.

Good luck with everything, and as I said before, just keep your head up and try to focus on the positive.

i know how surgery can be scary, i had my tonsils, adnoids, uvula, and some extra flesh removed from my throut, and it's not the same, but i was just as nervous. and heart and brain surgeons are among the best.

a good idea is to do homework on your surgeon, find out how many surgeries he's performed, that'll help calm yourself.

Cardiologists can work wonders these days. JUst have faith, you'll be fine. Will make sure I 'hit my knees" for ya...

Hi Buddy,

My Dad had 5 by passes done 14 years ago at the age of 70. He is still kicking and enjoing life at the age of 84. Just came back from Florida for 10 days and I am flying in from California to Boston to go away for a week in August. I will pray for you and I promise you things have changed in the past few years. I worked in the medical field for 8 years setting up heart monitoring equipment. I had a scare a few years ago. I have an elongate heart valve and they had to straighten it out. I thought I was not going to be able to surivive but I did. You will make it. Please e-mail me if you want to talk. [email protected]

Today I've had some many people hooking up wires to my chest, checking my heart beat, shooting a type of ink thats visable to medical monitors to show my blood flow, and I got to see what my heart looks like now, Needless to say the 2 valves that are messed up are slightly darker then the rest of my heart, lol I was told thats not so good, but I'll be going under the knife in 7 days so hopfully all will be well with my heart by this time 7 days from now.

Hiya Bushido! 🙂
I sincerely trust that the God you believe in WILL be with you through this difficult time! *nodsnods*
*Chickles sends you 'Spirit-huggs' of support*

Bushido, you've already received many valuable words of encouragement emphasising what you have going for you through this situation: high quality medical professionals, a well worn and common procedure, and your youthful vigour. Speaking as one who regularly visits at hospitals I can't emphasize enough that these all count for a lot!! *nodsnods*

One thing i will add that has been shared a bit here too, is that it really helps if you can focus on all the people you have to come back to, so to speak. Just think of what you have to live for - i know this may sound a bit over the top, but seriously, filling your heart and head with the people who care about you, things you want to do, and how good life is for you makes a huge difference in your favour. 🙂

We'll all be praying for you happy in the knowledge that you will be back to tell us all about it.

One other thing, they say that heart surgery is one of those interesting experiences that helps a person grow inside. I'v heard some people talk about their heart surgery as if it were an exotic adventure in a strange land. I don't know if this helps but i thought i'd share it anyway. 🙂

Many blessings, Bushido!

Well ok so I've gone through all the pre-surgery stuff, and all thats left is the surgery on saturday, so I'll proubly put up one last comment before my surgery, but after that it might be awhile Till I comment agian, so saturday is the big day, saturday will be the day that will change my life one way or the other, if I dont do this, I could have heart failure within 5 years, if I do, its open heart surgery, so thats something in the back of my mind, but I've decided, I wont be scared of what "could" happen, I'm gona fix this, be done with it, and get on with my life, theres still so many people to tickle =P, I wouldnt want to depreive them of myslef. =P

You're in my prayers, Bushido. The odds are in your favour because of your youthful age and your prompt response to the problem. Best of luck with everything!

Well its come to this, tommorow at 9:00am I'll be at my at the surgery ward. So this might be my last message for awhile, but over the past few days from talking with people, and the comments I've recivied, I know that all my friends here at the TTC will hear from me soon. Till then, may all of you be grand.
