In no particular order:
Tool (opiate and undertow I consider to be heavy albums)
Soulfly
Cryptopsy (getting into the realm of death metal)
Thrice
Faith No More
Mr. Bungle
Canderia
In Flames
I think today's hard rock is the best that's ever been, but I have to give the prize to Metallica, since never have such an excellent group of musicians given their talents to pure hard rock!
Being an old timer (40's) I have always been a hugh fan of Alice Cooper. To this day I have not missed a tour that has come through Detroit (30 years). For me there is no one better.
Like guitman69 though I do like Type O Negative and Faith No More (what ever happened to Faith?)
