Mine is easy. Fear Factory was simply awesome.....truly sucks that they broke up....Obsolete is my favorite metal album...ever.

Lets see.....

In no particular order:
Tool (opiate and undertow I consider to be heavy albums)
Soulfly
Cryptopsy (getting into the realm of death metal)
Thrice
Faith No More
Mr. Bungle
Canderia
In Flames

Yea..

Canderia Rules....I loved the first Soulfly album, can't stand the other 2.

ok well i not a big fan of this type of music, but some bands are cool but i like queen and to be fair nickalback if that counts as rock?

pantera

my pick is pantera. Straight up southern hard rock. I hear they might break up.

Pantera was a decent band. They also did the theme music for the Dallas Stars.

I think today's hard rock is the best that's ever been, but I have to give the prize to Metallica, since never have such an excellent group of musicians given their talents to pure hard rock!

Lawd...Disturbed, I think, would get my #1 vote. Followed closely by Godsmack and Papa Roach.

I'd have to say that my favorite hard-rock/metal band would have to be Triumph.

Others I enjoy regularly would include Metallica (black album and previous), Queensryche, Warlock, Y&T, Zebra, and the origianl Black Sabbath.

Came here to post Triumph, but I see Dave's taken my favorite and made ithis own. 😛 Sneaky tickler-man!

Oddly enough, my favorite thing by them is the Time canon...not very heavy.

Second on my choice list is RUSH. ALways liked them. Enjoy their musicality along with they screech.

Triumph, Dream Theatre, Extreme... and the the power rock band standards of the 70's.. Styx, Boston, Rush, Zepplin, Yes, Kansas,

It that too many "one favorite"? lol

Led Zeppelin.

Not only do they have the best body of work but without their existence we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Being an old timer (40's) I have always been a hugh fan of Alice Cooper. To this day I have not missed a tour that has come through Detroit (30 years). For me there is no one better.

Like guitman69 though I do like Type O Negative and Faith No More (what ever happened to Faith?)
