Ok. I need some help here people. Here's the problem;

I have a past due balance at school for $2,500.00. I have no job. I have been trying to get a job since June 15th. It has pretty much become hopeless because I go back to school August 20th and who's going to hire me for a month?

Anyway, it seems I cannot get a loan from most organizations because of my credit. All of the loans I've taken out so far are supposed to begin repayment after I graduate (3 yrs from now). I just got my first steady job in September of last year...and I've had loans since January 2004.

So now, I cannot get a loan without a co-signer. Everyone in my immediate family, is not worthy. This is not an exaggeration. My mother, Uncle, and brother are all saying "no". I do have an aunt however who is worthy, but refuses to co-sign for anything for anyone for any reason because she doesnt want to mess up her credit. Which is totally understandable and I dont fault her for that. She has done so much for me and continues to do so much for me it's ridiculous. She's even going to get me a car and I dont have to pay her back. So that's why I'm not pushing it with her.

I REALLY REALLY need to go back to school. I know things arent looking too good now, but I already have 2 jobs which are mine lined up. Not just the interview, but I will def have 2 jobs once school starts back and they are both on campus and I will be working everyday at both. One in the morning, and one at night, classes in between.

So basically, need help getting rid of balance, to register for school, to go back to school to continue education nd fulfill job requirements at already accepted jobs. If I dont go back, I lose these 2 jobs and it will be VERY hard to get them back.

So my question is, does anyone have ANY advice on what I can/should do? I'm all alone on this and am pretty stuck and don't know which way to turn. ANY advice will be much appreciated. Thanks to all!

Talk to the financial aid dept at your school. As long as your are in college your student loans get deferred until you are out again. They may agree to defer your outstanding loan. If you are delinquent then it could be trickier, but that takes awhile to be declared. If you are just behind on your payments just apply anyway. Federal school loans are almost too easy to get. In addition there may be grant money. Look for that too. Put your name on any school aid program they have. Something should eventually stick. They may even have student work programs available where they will put you to work while you are at school.

If none of that works, there's always just getting a full time job anywhere and getting yourself set on a payment plan to pay your tuition and fees while you are in school.

Those are the immediate things that I can think of off the bat.

Thanks for the advice, FD. I'm planning on calling my school on Monday morning.
