Help! Damsel in Distress! CHATroom

I am getting so frustrated. I haven't been able to get into the chatroom for months. I can't stand being away from all my friends anymore! ( shameless attempt at getting as much help as possible 😉 ) I get into the forum fine, chat room main area, and click on enter , java seems to be starting up, then....... BLAM .. this.

digichat could not connect to the server. if you are connecting through a firewall or proxy server, you may not be able to use Digichat. java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 74.86.etc...... connect,resolve)




Help??? ( I'd say "help" muffled, but I NEED everyone to understand what I am saying. 😉 )

Lauren, have you tried downloading a new java at www.sunmicrosystems.com? That has helped me get into the chatroom in the past. Also, there is supposedly an older version of java that can be accessed, which can help people with issues getting into the chat. I'm not sure which version it is though.

Lauren, have you tried downloading a new java at www.sunmicrosystems.com? That has helped me get into the chatroom in the past. Also, there is supposedly an older version of java that can be accessed, which can help people with issues getting into the chat. I'm not sure which version it is though.

Unless Myraids got a patch the error you are getting is because your system probably auto-loaded the new JAVA. If you roll back to like 6.3 or 6.5 you should be fine. The new version 6.11 ( or is it 6.12 ) does not play well with Digichat I am attaching the one I use now that fixed my problem. Just remove your current one. Then reboot, change the .zip to .exe and install. that should work for you.

ft, I'm sorry for giving her the wrong info. My bad.

I will say this: A while ago, maybe.. two months.. I had trouble getting into the chat myself. I went to the sunmicrosystems, and pushed an option that said "Get Java". I have no clue as to which version it downloaded, but it solved my problem, and I'm now able to get in.

Listen to ft, though, Lauren. I'm sure he and Myriads will be able to guide you through your chat entry situation.

Sorry to hear that, ft. I dont know what version I used to get in then. As I said before, a while back, I could not get in. I went to sunmicrosystems, pushed "Download java", and now I have no problem. Unless they had an older version accessable there. I just dont know. Whatever the case, I can access chat now, so I wont worry about it.
