Hi,
Well recently I went to a wireless broadband for starters witch was pretty cool not having to go through my phone line with dial up.

Anyway now today when I first wanted to get into the chatroom all I kept seeing was the Java sun icon then after a white box with an x in the left hand corner of the box.

So I checked with technical assistance and read Kuchs problem and thought why not get rid of Java 5.0 update 11 then reinstall it so I did.

Now I've gotten ride of the white box with the x in the left hand corner, and got back the connection button, but when I click on that and wait a few minutes but it pops itself back out denying me access.

Sorry His Devind Shadow but I really could use your wisdom on this one again.

Did you remove all traces of Java before reinstalling update 11? Earlier updates or newer versions would also be good to get rid of first. Check for these and remove them in the Add/Remove Programs.

-Go to "Start"

-Look for and click on "Control Panel"

-Click on "Add/Remove Programs"

-Look for "J2SE Runtime Environment" or "Java SE 6" or something similar to those two. There may be several entries like that

-Remove all of them

-Download an installer for Java Runtime 5, Update 11 that I have used sucessfully. I have it hosted on my website:

-Run the installer

That worked for me (In that I was able to access the chatroom after doing that). Let me know if it fails for you. Make sure that you close all internet browser windows (Better yet, close all programs) while uninstalling and reinstalling any of the Java updates.

Need a different application

Hi Shadow,
Well the good news is I successfully deleated everything
java J2SE Envirorment 5.0 update 11 related to my PC.

Then I clicked to save what you posted and tried running it
at which time a notice came up saying that my win i586 is not a valid win32 application.

Guess I'll have download either Java J2SE enviorment 6.0 if there is such a thing, sorry for the trouble here Shadow.
