Help with a lady

OK, I've been trying to get close to a special someone lately, but she is very busy. She truely is. Her schedule will soon be less busy. In the mean time, I try to spend what time I can with her. She's very nice to me, rarely acting cold or distant.

A couple weeks ago I attended a play she was in. She wasn't expecting me to come, as it's nearly a 1.2 hour drive. Nevertheless, I came and she seemed genuinly surprised to see me. (a good surprised, I think) She was, again, busy meeting all the people at the event. But I was able to talk to her parents. Her mother said she had heard of me from her daughter, and her father was overly kind to me.

I'm still getting a mixed message from her. What do you think? 😕 <- me

IMO: That might be a good sign from the parents, but I wouldn't try to cultivate an in-road to her through her folks. Much more likely to back-fire than it is to be productive.

Just take it easy. Don't play mind games (like playing hard to get) and don't harass her by asking her out all the time. Find a middle ground. Call her when you think she might be available and chat for a few minutes. When you think her schedule has "freed-up" some, invite her out for something you're sure she'll enjoy. (Maybe a Broadway show?)

BTW: If she senses that you'll put up with her acting cold towards you, or worse yet, if she senses that you're desperate, she probably won't respect you if you still keep coming back for more. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the good advice. I'll try to do that. The whole dating scene is confusing to me.
