Help With Avi Please!!!!! (no Clips, Just Need Help)

When I try to play any AVI I get this damn DIV3 Compressor not found and it just plays audio no video, that's when i play with realplayer. Then when I use quicktime it tells me its missing something and wont play the video neither but sound. Can someone help me fix this problem?

I find that neither Quicktime or RealPlayer work well (or at all) with AVI files.
The two players that I'll use for that are either Windows Media Player or the DiVX Player.

Yup. You need the divx codec, from their site, which also comes with their player. Then you can either choose their own player or Media Player with the codec installed -- not realplayer or quicktime, though.

avi yuck!

avi is truly the format from hell. a miscrosloth concoction that truly defies any standards. That is why i beg people to use either quicktime or mpegs or RA's or even the dreaded WMV format. anything is better than avi's
