Biggles, you said in another thread that you were an aircraft enthusiast. I know that the indian is too. Check these sites out:
The Aerodrome: http://www.theaerodrome.com
A site run by enthusiasts – Aces and Aircraft of WWI. Aircraft photos, stats, air aces, etc.
Bharat Rakshak – Indian Armed Forces: www.bharat-rakshak.com
Unofficial website run by enthusiasts. Many aviation photos and a link to the Indian Air Museum.
Confederate Air Force: http://www.confederateairforce.org/
This organization started as a club of Texas oilmen who liked WW-II warbirds and had the money to buy and fly them – the name was a joke. They’ve since gone politically correct and are now calling themselves “Commemorative Air Force”.
Russian Air Force Museum: http://www.moninoaviation.com/index.html
Self explanatory.
Lost Squadron Museum: http://thelostsquadron.com/museum.html
Joby sent me this link, her dad is involved in the museum. It’s the home of a P-38 that was recovered from under a glacier in Greenland and restored to flying condition. Site has 2 downloadable .mpeg of the airplane in flight.
National Museum of Naval Aviation: http://www.naval-air.org/
USN, USMC, and US Coast Guard aircraft and lots more.
Naval Historical Center: www.history.navy.mil/index.html
USN official site. Photo section has lots of aviation photos. Lots to see on this site.
US Air Force Museum: http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/
USAF official site. USAF and foreign aircraft. Located at Wright-Patterson AFB, which is home to the USAF engineering and evaluation center. The foreign aircraft originally were brought to Wright-Pat for evaluation.
Enjoy!
