This thread is for hobbies that you love to indulge in, which may include items you collect and things you study in your free time.

Please click here for this thread's sister thread, "Items you hoard dementedly". 😛

Here, this is coins, hands-down. I can give rough guesses on the values of pretty much any British coin you can show me, will spend obscene amounts of money on certain coins, am constantly telling people that a proof coin does NOT mean it comes with a certificate (it refers to a highly-polished finish used mainly for limited edition and display coins), and am currently in talks with Karen over treaties/borders concerning shelf space when I move in next year.

I focus mainly on British coins, but am shifting into American ones slowly and also occasionally dip my toes into foreign coins such as a Saddam Hussein Dinar, a Nazi 2-reichmarks, and my latest acquisition, a silver pillar dollar (from which pieces of eight came) that was minted in 1737 and spent 230 years at the bottom of the sea with the wreck of the Hollandia. 😛

i have 2 i follow equally devotionally and also go hand and hand.

1. Video Gaming

2. Military History - collecting and the study of

picking up the latter from my father and i continue the trend. helped me realize even more that my g/f was perfect for me. she was born on June 6th.:super_hap

i mostly study and collect WW2, but i dabble in WW1, Civil War, and modern warfare and weaponry. my father's specialty was the Civil War. lmao, even built a train set circling the model re-enactment of Hamburger Hill and has hundreds of military models and books.

video gaming for me is a haooby and an addiction. i friggin love it! military games and FPS games are on the top of my list.

oh, and Senshi, i never was into coin collecting like my grandfather, but i wish you told me this earlier. just sold off my grandfathers silver plated 9/11 $20 bill, some Nazi marks old buffalo nickels, etc.

Senshi Edit: I edited your post instead of replying - sorry. >_< fixing.

I collect vacuum tubes (hence the nom de guerre) and impedance bridges.

Oooh, close call! XD I already have the silver 9/11 bill, but the marks and probably the nickels would have been interesting. Thanks for the thought, anyway. 😉

As for war memorabilia, that's a really cool one! Hobbies that you can display like that always seemed a lot more attractive to me. 😛

as for the edit, yeesh, sorry about that. @.@ I added my own reply to the end of your post. I was wondering why I had Kirk in my siggy for a moment there. Obviously too early to take the training wheels off my mod buttons.

Easy: APBA baseball

currently replaying the 1989 baseball season as the Cubs Manager to get them past the Giants in the playoffs...
