I dont really watch wrestling anymore but I went to my friends
house to see Hogan fight The Rock And I could not believe Hogan lost.
Hulk Hogan made wrestling what it is today.I am a hulkamaniac from
back in the day.Now people will say that the Rock is the best.In reality The Rock will never accomplish the things
Hogan did,headline numerous wrestlemanias,slam Andre the Giant,and
basically be a role model to millions.Sure,he is getting old but he
is definately the greatest wrestler of all time.

i knew Hogan was going to lose. he was the "bad guy". that match for me was very emotional to tell you the truth. i love the Rock. the man is entertaining and can put on a show. i wil always like the Rock.

however, i'm a Hulkamaniac for life. i grew up on Hogan. back in the day, he was a role model. i wore his T-shirts and stuff during high school. back in the 1980's, wrestling wasnt as accepted in the mainstream like it is today. so there was little "poking fun" at me because i liked wrestling. but i imitated Hogan with pride. you should see my yearbook when i graduated. people wrote "to the Hulkster. good luck in college, etc.." the most inspiring thing i saw Hogan do was his Wrestlemania 3 match vs the Giant. for some reason, that match had me all fired up, same with Wrestlemania 5 when he beat Savage for the title. we all know wrestling is fake, but hell, i loved it a lot and applied the principle of "hulkamania" to my everyday life. the most devastating thing ever was watching Hogan lose to the Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 fair and square. that was devastating. not only did people at school laugh at me, but i was actually hurt over this "scripted" ending. to this day, i dont like the Ultimate Warrior.....

but watching Hogan yesterday was fun. it was really amazing how the crowd reacted to him. that place was pro-Hogan, even though he was the "bad guy". seeing Rock get booed was amazing too. i'm sure he didnt expect that. but when Hogan did his trademark "get fired up for a comeback routine", it all came back to me. i was cheering loudly. it was great to revisit that time of my life again. but when Hogan lost, i knew that was going to be the outcome, but i loved the match. you could tell that Hogan loved the crowd, and you could see he was emotional about it before the match started. when he started posing for the crowd, man that was great. the only thing that suck was the fact they didnt play his song "Real American". that song needs to comeback, especially with the way things are going on in real life. it is good to see Hogan back as a good guy. you figured he couldnt stay "bad" long. the fans love him too much.

the rest of Wrestlemania was cool. the only thing is that the Rock-Hogan match should have been last. way too much emotion for that match. there was no emotion for the crowd during the Y2J-HHH match, like there should have been, plus they put the women's match after Rock-Hogan and the title match. no offense to the women (i love women's wrestling, hell i have a tickle series involving women wrestling), but i didnt have the energy to follow up Rock-Hogan. overall, Wrestlemania was good. i liked it a lot, although there were a lot of botched manuevers. but you have to give it up for Hogan and Rock for putting on a show.

hey Krokus, what's going on with the NWO?????

wow

who won between hhh and y2j
I hope hhh won and how did hogan lose?

well, HHH won the title, which was cool. what sucked was his entrance. some band played a rendition of his theme music and it sucked. i like Motorhead's performance better. anyway, he did manage to pedigree Y2J for the title. but better yet, he pedigreed Stephanie!! man, that was great.

the Rock-Hogan match ended typically. after Hogan did his little "comeback routine" he dropped the leg on Rock, but Rock kicked out. Hogan tried to go for the big leg drop again, but Rock moved out of the way, and then followed up with 2 Rock-bottom's. then he did the People's elbow to finish it off. craziest thing is the crowd. they booed everything the Rock did. but when he was about to do the People's elbow, they CHEERED wildly. when the Rock hit the move, they even counted Hogan out!! wild. just wild. afterwards, Hogan and Rock shook hands and then Nash and Hall jumped Hogan and Rock and Hogan fought them off. so much for NWO.

Wrestlemania was quite enjoyable!!!

As I have stated before I never liked Hogan...in fact I told the guys I was watching it with last night that if he "Hulk's Out" I'm leaving...he did anyway! 🙄

Nobody saw the handshake and NwO smackdown coming until the end though so kudos to the writing staff on that one. Overall though a rather boring Wrestlemania wasn't it? Nothing too spectacular..other than Stacy getting her hindend spanked...lol!

I don't watch rasslin' and haven't since the early '80's. I have to admit to watching back then, though. I think the whole thing is kinda "out there" now, but I do have respect for Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan).

I read an article and interview with the man today in a Canadian paper that we process at work (yeah, I screw off most of the time), and I was even more impressed with him now than I was. He was a real role-model for many young people back in the '80s. Even though wrestling is fixed, to be 48 and throw around the ring with a behemoth almost half your age is still quite a thing to accomplish.😎

I was so psyched The Rock won, although I was glad to see the overwhelming positive response to Hogan. Two things could happen now:

Hogan will stay on as a face, which he always was in the WWF,

Or this will all be a ploy and he'll turn on The Rock tonight and continue on in the NWO.

Drew

my guess is option # 2 i think they are setting the rock up for tonight.

I thought Wrestlemania was mostly eh. RVD/Regal was better than I expected, and DDP/Christian was surprisingly good, but nothing else really stood out for me.

Hogan/Rock was a classic, well worth what I paid, though. It was a nostalgic thrill watching Hogan break out his old moveset, up to and including hulking up and shaking the finger, and the Rock played along with him perfectly. (Hasn't the Rock learned by now that he gets booed like crazy any time he tries to do a Sharpshooter in Canada, though?)

I'm kinda sorry Hogan is still around, though. That may sound nasty, but last night's match would be perfect to retire on; if he stays in the WWF, though, the chances of him pulling one of his power plays, screwing things up, and reminding me of why I used to hate him increase. But then, how many wrestlers retire when they should? (See also: Mick Foley, Terry Funk, et al.)

I knew both Hogan and Hall would lose, but I never expected that hand shake. I also never thought that the outsiders would turn on Hogan like that.......DAMN :wow: 😱

For Shem The Penman

If anything Mick Foley retired at just the right time. I think his body made him look a lot older than he really was, after all he was in his mid 30's when he quit. I agree with you about Terry Funk though. That guy should have taken the gap years ago.

I was alluding to Foley's coming back for the four-way title match at Wrestlemania 2000 after he was "officially" retired at No Way Out. I found that pretty disappointing and thought it set a bad precedent -- again, look at the example of Funk and other wrestlers who un-retire at the drop of a hat. Fortunately, Mick's had the sense since then to stay out of the ring.

Oh Yeah, Shem,

I stand corrected mate, I realise what you mean now. Yeah, I agree with that point too. Good for Foley that he retired when his body was still young enough to partially recuperate from all the hammerings it had received over the years. I was quite disappointed with the way that whole Fata Fourway thing went at Wrestlemania. For me the best thing was Steph getting the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow. Speaking of which, the best point about this year's main event was Steph getting pedigreed. OH YEAH!!! She had that coming!
After all the emotion caused by Steve Austin and The Rock dismembering the NWO, the title match was a massive anticlimax. I think they should have done Wrestlemania 18 the same way they did Summerslam 92. That was the year it was held at Wembley Stadium in London and the British Bulldog was fighting Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Title. The main event that day was the WWF Title match between Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. The WWF Title match was placed halfway through the card and the IC title match was last.Because of the Bulldog being on his home turf it made a great climax to the evening and I think Rock and Hogan should have been last this year. Especially with all the emotion and hand shaking and then Rock and the Hulk teaming up to twat the living daylights out of good ol' Razor and Diesel.
It's be interesting to see if Hogan can cut the full time schedule of a top face, at nearly fifty years old. What made him the top face in his heyday was his unique ability to take all a heel could throw, get whacked by the heel's finisher and then kick out to come back with all guns blazing, flatten the heel, drop the Big Leg and get the pin. That gimmick of being the only guy in the world who could come straight out of a finisher into his Hulk-Out, wasn't replicated until the Ultimate Warrior came along with his "Captain Schizo" rope shaking routine. At WM 6 Hogan passed the torch to him and Warrior got elevated to equal status with the Hulkster.
After Hellwig's fall from grace, the WWF didn't see a guy of equal hard-assedness (not even the Hitman) until Steve Austin and The Rock. Now there's four guys in the regular roster who can do it. Rock,Austin,HHH and the Taker. Those four straddle the wrestling world like giants and I have to wonder if there's any room for Hogan now they have achieved the status they have.

so ture but I still wish hogan won I don't like the rock very
much but because of how big he is it had to happend, yeah and hhh, austin, rock, and the deadman are on top maybe if they get rid of the rock they could find a spot for hogan hopfully rock will star
in the duke nukem movie and leave for awhile

Whoa whoa whoa why get rid of the Rock?????? Get rid of Austin !!!!

Jim, Terry Funk first announced his retirement way back in '83. He just wouldn't stay retired.

they are spliting the rosters. Mcmahon gets smackdown and flair gets raw. i would have thought the other way around....their draft is coming up...should be interesting to see how its handled. will tag teams go together or be broken up. i guess whoever holds the title belts get to do both. jericho has always claimed.."Raw is jericho" and it seems like rock has always claimed smackdown as his...i wonder where everyone else is going.

in regards to the hogan/rock thing...id bet money its a trick...it wouldnt be the first time one of the nwo pretended to be a good guy and it was just a trap. one thing i definitly hope doesnt happen...i hope hogan dont start playing his stupid real american ring music again. his current ring music is voodoo chile...a jimi hendrix song and the opening guitar riff is just to cool

No

It is absurd that rock won. The fans booed the rock. They cheered for Hogan. Hogan is better.....through thick and thin, I still stand beside my beloved nWo.

I'm glad Hogan's out of the NWO it was getting old (and so are all three wrestlers) Now maybe Hulkamania can make a return 😎

NWO is getting a new member . which is actually an old member..i believe X-pac is set to return and rejoin them. or whats left of them.
