i knew Hogan was going to lose. he was the "bad guy". that match for me was very emotional to tell you the truth. i love the Rock. the man is entertaining and can put on a show. i wil always like the Rock.
however, i'm a Hulkamaniac for life. i grew up on Hogan. back in the day, he was a role model. i wore his T-shirts and stuff during high school. back in the 1980's, wrestling wasnt as accepted in the mainstream like it is today. so there was little "poking fun" at me because i liked wrestling. but i imitated Hogan with pride. you should see my yearbook when i graduated. people wrote "to the Hulkster. good luck in college, etc.." the most inspiring thing i saw Hogan do was his Wrestlemania 3 match vs the Giant. for some reason, that match had me all fired up, same with Wrestlemania 5 when he beat Savage for the title. we all know wrestling is fake, but hell, i loved it a lot and applied the principle of "hulkamania" to my everyday life. the most devastating thing ever was watching Hogan lose to the Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 fair and square. that was devastating. not only did people at school laugh at me, but i was actually hurt over this "scripted" ending. to this day, i dont like the Ultimate Warrior.....
but watching Hogan yesterday was fun. it was really amazing how the crowd reacted to him. that place was pro-Hogan, even though he was the "bad guy". seeing Rock get booed was amazing too. i'm sure he didnt expect that. but when Hogan did his trademark "get fired up for a comeback routine", it all came back to me. i was cheering loudly. it was great to revisit that time of my life again. but when Hogan lost, i knew that was going to be the outcome, but i loved the match. you could tell that Hogan loved the crowd, and you could see he was emotional about it before the match started. when he started posing for the crowd, man that was great. the only thing that suck was the fact they didnt play his song "Real American". that song needs to comeback, especially with the way things are going on in real life. it is good to see Hogan back as a good guy. you figured he couldnt stay "bad" long. the fans love him too much.
the rest of Wrestlemania was cool. the only thing is that the Rock-Hogan match should have been last. way too much emotion for that match. there was no emotion for the crowd during the Y2J-HHH match, like there should have been, plus they put the women's match after Rock-Hogan and the title match. no offense to the women (i love women's wrestling, hell i have a tickle series involving women wrestling), but i didnt have the energy to follow up Rock-Hogan. overall, Wrestlemania was good. i liked it a lot, although there were a lot of botched manuevers. but you have to give it up for Hogan and Rock for putting on a show.
hey Krokus, what's going on with the NWO?????
