A movie set in space about the beginning of humanity's eventual exodus from our planet...set to an INSPIRATION TONE?

Technically humanity IS trying to save itself from a disaster. Self-caused EXTINCTION! The Earth is apparently either so polluted or so over-populated that there is isn't enough food to go around anymore. Now our race needs to leave Earth or else our species is going to go extinct. This is the beginning of the story of humanity's eventual mass-exodus from our world.

Rox, I mean no disrepsect. It is almost universal in sci fi to portray a future that is dark and foreboding ... a tale of woe ... the idea of a favorable future is a wonderful one ... my way of saying it is unusual ... 🙂

Yes but I think this is the first time in a LONG TIME were they came out with a movie that isn't going to involve battles against aliens or such and instead be about humanity's space program (which right now is pretty much not going anywhere). I've been longing for a movie like this to come out ever since I watched "2010: The Year We Make Contact" on the big screen.

lol, really though, this dalek's been a huge fan of the wondrous possibility of space exploration since a little 'lek, as ironic this sentence must look. That a movie encapsulate that raw feeling is refreshing! Though not fitting into the space opera/horror/suspense category(ies) may not be following the trend, I don't think a positive take on the subject is out of the ordinary. Just, provide a good plot, pwease! 😉
