Ross and Kayley had arrived home on a Saturday, so of course on Sunday they rested.
School was not far off for Kayley, so she had to begin lesson planning and pre school opening meetings with administrators , as Ross prepared to head back to the office.
When Ross left for the office around 730 on Monday morning, Kayley was already up at the bedroom table, looking through some work, as Ross came out dressed for the office, in slacks, a dress shirt, blazer but no tie.
"Market Man is leaving my side for the first time in a month, boo hoo hoo!" Kayley said in mock sadness.
"Really? I thought you would be happy to get rid of me after all that together time" Ross said.
"Ross, we had a wonderful vacation, and we really did get along fine" Kayley said.
"I know, but I just felt like saying it" Ross said.
"Ross, just a gentle suggestion. You had mentioned going to OKC for a few days this week. If I were you, I would call Mister P first to see if anything is coming up before calling Timmy. We know how Mister P puts you in a good mood, and Baby Timmy puts you in a bad mood" Kayley said.
"I know. I likely wont even see Baby Timmy this week if I go to OKC. Remember what we discussed on the trip? Well, I dont want to bring that up to him on a week I'm going to OKC to get into a fight with him and get myself all wound up so that I can concentrate on an oil show. Let me find out what Mister P wants to do first, then I will deal with Baby Timmy" Ross said.
"Good idea, have a wonderful day" Ross said.
Ross jumped into his Uber, and went to his office.
"The Boss is back after his month long absence. Hello to everyone, I trust we still have a company " Ross said, going into his office, dropping his briefcase, and then going into the outer office to say hello to everyone.
"You look wonderful Ross. That trip seemed to have really agreed with you" Victor said.
"I feel just great. Kayley and I had an amazing time. Ah, are there any pressing matters?" Ross asked.
"Not really, everyone knows you were away and are just getting home today. Everyone is just working away " Victor said.
"Okay, if everyone is here, I would like to have a staff meeting in the conference room sometime after lunch. I made what might be a major decision on the trip, but I have to talk to the person it involves first. Oh, and just for laughs, I believe I have to go to OKC for two or three days this week for a show. I wont know until I call Mister P. Mister P and Steve were working on other things while Kayley and I were on our adventure. Now that Kayley and I are home, I have to find out about my most important client" Ross said.
Ross went into his office, and called Fritz. "Good Morning, Ross. How are you? How was the vacation?" Fritz asked.
"Just great, how are you?" Ross said.
"Fine, ah, we would like to talk to you and do a show or two if you can. Can you come down early Wednesday morning?" Fritz asked.
"I already figured that. Of course I can come down, my best friend and partner. I will take the earliest plane I can get, come to the office. We can do a virtual conference and presentation at the office on Wednesday when I get there, and then two or three shows at the field. I can stay until Friday night or Saturday, yours and the investors choices" Ross said,.
"Wonderful. Oh, and a couple of things. When you get here, we have a few papers for you to sign. An approval paperwork on the last group of investors, a ten percent inclusion of a real estate deal Steve and I are doing as a present for you finally taking a vacation, and a possible O and G deal with John Fish in Canada. " Fritz said.
"The first two are fine. Thank You for including me on the deal you and Steve are in together. I want to look at the John Fish thing and call him when I get there. I wanted to have a meeting while Kayley and I were in Anchorage but she did not want me having any meetings, so if John says I have to go up there at some other point I will just do it" Ross said.
"Okay, have fun in the office, see you Wednesday, and I will talk to you tomorrow" Fritz said.
Ross then called Tim.
"Hi, are you home? How was the trip?" Tim asked.
"The trip was wonderful, and I am home. How are you, Timothy?" Ross asked.
"I hope I'm happy that you're home. Can you see me?" Tim asked.
"I have to go to OKC for three days on Wednesday, but I can see you for lunch or dinner tomorrow. I think we need to talk" Ross said.
"Okay, name the time and place." Tim said.
"S and W dinner 6 pm" Ross said.
"Fine, see you then"
Tim said.
When Ross got home that night about 7, he told Kayley what had gone on that day.
"OKC trip from Wednesday morning until either late Friday or early Saturday for a few shows, but we knew that, oh and just for laughs, dinner with Timothy at S and W tomorrow at six" Ross said.
"Are you going to tell him what you discussed with me?" Kayley said.
"Maybe not tomorrow. I want to go to OKC with a clear head to see Steve and Fritz and the investors. When I get back next week, I might have another meeting with Timothy, and tell him then" Ross said.
"Sounds like a good idea" Kayley said.
The next day, Ross worked in the office. A Vice President , David, had been offered an account by one of David's accounts that David asked Ross to look at , and David himself would service.
"Ross, my account said this would be a good acquistion for RossShell, and would pay us one hundred grand a year, oh, and also, this guy has a lot of connections to get us other accounts that I can service, or give it to other VP''s. May I accept the account?" David asked.
Ross smiled. "But of course. Thank You for being diligent with this. I will sign the papers, and you, David, get a twenty five thousand dollar bonus in your next paycheck immediately, for acquiring this account" Ross said.
"Thank You ,. Sir" David said.
"David, please dont ever call me sir,. I am Ross to you always, and my door is always open to you or anyone else. Keep up the good work" Ross said.
"Thank You, Ross" David said, taking the papers Ross had signed and exiting Ross's office.
As the day went along and the dinner with Tim approached, Ross became more and more troubled.
"Victor, I am not looking forward to this dinner. We both know that it could be heated" Ross said.
"Ross, if I may, please just stay calm, and explain to Timothy calmly how you feel about a VP helping you with his account" Vic said.
"I know, but we both know how Tim is, and how contentious our relationship has been lately. I just hope he listens" Ross said.
"Try to explain it to him calmly, and work it out with him" Victor said.
Meeting time was approaching, and Ross took an Uber from Ross's office to S and W.
When Ross arrived, Tim was sitting there.
"Ross, hi, good to see you , you look wonderful,. The trip must have really agreed with you" Tim said.
"You look good as well, Tim, how are you?" Ross asked.
"Fine , thanks" Tim said.
After Ross and Tim ordered drinks and dinner, they sat and drank , and were each quiet for a minute or two, until Tim said.
"Ross, I've been really thinking about it. I saw how upset you were before you left on your trip, and how upset we were with each other. You look so good now, that I dont want to risk our personal relationship or our business relationship, as both mean so much to me, and I know to you as well. I think a change needs to be made. I think with our personal and business situation, and your obligations in OKC, that you might need to have a VP, or hire one, to help you work on my account and with me" Tim said.
Ross was a bit stunned. "Tim, can you read my mind? That is exactly what I was coming here to discuss with you. So you would be okay with that, then?" Ross asked.
"Yes, of course, anything that will make our personal and business relationship better" Tim said.
"Great. I will tell you what. Let's just have a nice relaxing dinner, as we cannot solve this tonight. I;m going to OKC for several days tomorrow as you know. When I get home, we will meet again next week, discuss the whole situation, and figure out a way that is most productive for you as my client, and for our relationship as business manager and client, and best friends" Ross said.
"Fair enough" Tim said.
Ross and Tim finished dinner, and when Ross got home, he reported the stunning meeting he had with Tim to Kayley.
"Kale, its almost like he either read my mind, or knew what I know also. Tim said first that we need a VP to help me work on his account for our business and personal relationship, and all of my obligations with Fritz, Steve, the O and G and other things" Ross said.
"I'm thrilled for you, honey. Ross, Tim is a bright guy. He knows what went on between the two of you in recent times, how upset and stressed and tense you were before we left on that trip, and how wonderful you look now. You needed this trip not only for your health, for our relationship, and for your frame of mind. Ross, whatever happens in OKC, whether you sign one new investor or one hundred, please just take it in stride. Please let this trip give you the new outlook on life" Kayley said.
"Okay, oh, and right now, I intend to look at one thing, your naked breasts, I want you, teacher, since I will not be here for a few days?" Ross said.
"Oh, you can have me. Teacher is very, very happy with you" Kayley said, as Ross and Kayley got into it, and made love.
The next morning, very early, Ross awakened, kissed Kayley goodbye, and got into the Uber for the ride to JFK and the flight to Dallas and OKC.
The first two days of work when Ross returned home had been a smashing success. One of Ross's VP's had gotten a major account for RossShell that all Ross had to do was sign off on, and Ross had a very productive meeting with Tim for the purpose of making their relationship more productive both personally and business wise.
Now came the first trip to OKC since the mega vacation that Kayley and Ross had.
How would that OKC trip go?
That would be seen.
